Checked all my Valve adjustments. Didn’t expect any to be out. Guess what, not a single one out of spec. So onto pulling cams and resealing everything

But first struts, wheel bearing and a mirror on a. Rav4. Might be paying for a mishimoto radiator (just don’t want to put the old back in)

I’ve done everything but the roof and its pretty darn quiet. Take some pics of your roof liner removal process. I may try it if its not to involved.

One thing I noticed when I caulked my weather stripping up top on the exterior of the cap back in December that it really quieted the rain sound up there. Amazing what some caulking can do.

Did you ever figure out that temperature guage conversion?

I have not looked into the temp gauge/ mpg thingy very far. I might revisit that mod when I tear into the roof for sound proofing.

I’ve been mulling over the solution. I’m going to try and access the coil from the other side and blast some compressed air while having a vacuum hose on the other side to catch the cack.

As far as a filter, thinking I’ll use a square type rigid filter. Maybe something with a rubber gasket around it like our engine air filters. Fab up some brackets and tension fit the filter up onto the sheet metal pictured. The rubber gasket will form a tight seal and reduce noise squeaks.

Access is easy as three bolts removal of motor housing. Stick arm up in there and slide old out and new in.

Maybe some coil cleaner? Only issue might be plugging up the drain.

Keep those hands safe! We're all eager to see more of the blower set up. I kinda want to take mine off now to see if I can clear the leaves and sticks and crap that I hear in there.

I pulled my Alpine out again and plugged in a different version of the aux cord. This one plugs into the Ai Net terminal so I can keep my ipod connection. After playing with settings it works pretty well. Happy to be able to use my phone now for music.

My blower wheel cup had a few June Bugs and some pine straw stuck in there. The fan blades had mucho dust built up which required wire brushing.

Put an Extang 2.0 tri-fold on the truck this morning and used the wedges that were in the box the stop the plastic on the bottom of the rear seat from rattling (not that the "OEM" Bazooka does that much).
It seems more quiet (quieter?) in the cab though it may just be in my head. And riding with the rear window down won't throw every piece of dirt into the cab.
It's early but so far I'm happy with it...

Oh, and I'll hit 63k miles this afternoon!

Yeah, I'm fortunate to have a daily driver so keeping the miles down is a bit easier.

That said I plan to go to one car in the next couple of years to save a little cash. I drive 75 miles a day (x5) and don't think I can put that on the Tundra just because it is low in miles. So I'll probably sell it and the commuter car and downsize to a Tacoma V6; sounds so sad...

Driving it to Mexicali. Stopped for gas at a familiar 76 station about half way.

I haven't made this drive in at least 15 years. As a kid I made the journey every month, I've forgotten so much about this area.

Parked at my aunt's house and pointed down the street to show my wife "That's the border"

She didn't believe me. As we walked up the driveway a Nissan flew down the residential street doing at least 90. "Still don't believe me? We are really close" :D

Vacuumed out the debris. See pic. Then put a water hose gun and shot water through the coils and let the sediment filter out the condensate drain in the engine bay. Did the best I could with a tight space, but it looks way better. Vent volume is way better. 4 hours work. Fresh smells!

had a good day with the tundra. I replaced the O2 sensors last Monday, got my MPG up to 13. not good enough for me, gonna keep doing stuff to improve.

I pulled the fender flares off. I really just like these trucks without the flares. when I replace the bed, fenders and doors, I'm definitely getting flare-less models. man is this true rusty. No wonder is was so cheap.

I also did the SeaFoam intake cleaner treatment. we'll see if that does anything for mileage or power. :notsure:

I also got transmission temps into Torque pro! took me a while, but it got it! seems to be fairly accurate too, but I obviously have no way of knowing that. :yay:
