    I have a 2005 Toyota Tundra my my vehicle has 240000 miles I am on a new engine at 98,000 miles on my way home one night I was driving over Hill and lost all air compression in the truck died, it won't start again. could it could it be the air pump for the air intake manifold

    Didnt 05-06 have the air pump thing that fails and is ridiculously expensive to fix so people bypass it?

    Yes it does! OP, research "air induction pump" on this site and you will find a lot of info on the problem and how to remedy with a by-pass kit. That's how I learned about it myself. Good luck!

    What makes you think it's the pump? I believe a failed pump will light up your dash but, will have little to no effect on the engine running/starting. The fact the system can be bypassed is evidence your truck dying and not starting isn't caused by a failed injection pump.

    Sounds more like a broke timing belt.

    Bad air pumps just put the truck into limp mode.
