Just traded my wife’s payed off 2012 Ford Fusion for a 2019 highlander. The Fusion got great mileage and looked great, but man it had issues the whole time I had it. The transmission started slipping at 100,000 miles and that was the last straw. You know a 27000 dollar car should last longer than that....
Hopefully this will be a better vehicle.

Nice. They are supposed to come out with a TRD version of the Highlander.

We had a 2012 Highlander and my wife absolutely loved it. Never had any problems with it. We eventually traded it in for a Sequoia so we could tow our boat. When we traded it in the resale value was high because of demand, so they gave us a great trade-in value. I expect that the new ones are even better. I hope it lasts many years and a ridiculous amount of miles for you.
