Just moved to DFW from San Antonio, any full size truck off roading places close by?

    Besides Bridgeport OHV park.

Welcome from Marion! We have quite a few people in your neck of the woods, I'm sure someone will chime in soon.

For mudding I use to go to Marshall Creek park on Grapevine Lake north of Trophy Club. It is really designed for motorcross and not sure if it is still open and if they allow trucks. They did last time I was out there.

    Hey everyone,

Yeah not many “legal” places in Texas, considering how big it is.

    Lost track after #1.
If you want to head a few hours north, there's a great park in the Arbuckle Mountain region of Oklahoma. They've run a few off-road races out there as well.

I haven’t been to Arbuckle Mt/Crossroads park in OK, but it looks interesting. Besides Bridgeport, the only other “close” park is Barnwell Mountain Recreation Area two and a half hours east of Dallas. You need a TX Parks and Wildlife Dept. OHV sticker to off-road there. It’s been almost 10 years since I’ve been, though. Not sure if I’d consider it Tundra friendly. It’s not so much the width of our Tundras (I’ve taken a fullsize Bronco there) as it is the long wheelbase.

I haven’t been yet, but Hidden Falls in Marble Falls is supposedly nice. I’ve seen pictures of a few Tundras there, so I’m guessing it’s Tundra-friendly. It’s about 3 to 4 hours southwest of Dallas.

Hot Springs OHV Park is about 5 hours northeast in Hot Springs, AR. I’ve been there a couple times in a Tacoma, but I’m not sure how the Tundra’s wheelbase will fare in those mostly wooded, hilly trails.

I was at Katemcy Rocks last week, which is about 4 hours southwest. Scenic park, but not really Tundra friendly. Geared more towards the harder core rockcrawling rigs.

Escondido Draw Recreation Area looks promising, but I haven’t been yet. It’s about 5 to 6 hours southwest of Dallas and you also need an OHV sticker. They may let you enter, but a Game Warden can ticket and fine you if caught wheeling there without one.

You can drive along the beach and camp at North Padre Island about 8 hours southeast of Dallas. Tundra friendly but sometimes you can get stuck in the sand.

If you don’t mind the drive, Big Bend National Park and the Santa Fe National Forest both have easy, Tundra-friendly trails. But they’re each about 10 hours away unfortunately.

There’s a park and some hardcore trails near Clayton, OK about 3 hours northeast of Dallas. Doubt it’s Tundra friendly, but I’ve never been so I don’t know.

I’m sure there are other places in the general area, but that’s all I can think of for now.

Hidden Falls park is tundra friendly (level 3 & some 4 at most), been there a couple of times when I lived in San Antonio. I was thinking about trying BMRA for the Lone Star toyota Jamboree and staying on the lower level trails. Great info though I will look into the other ones you mentioned.

I’m thinking of going to Jambo also and just sticking to the easy trails.
