Just installed Boss lift. This picture is with 275/55/20 on +50mm offset wheel. Can I go to 285/60 or 285/65? I'm estimating the tire will be about 0.6-0.7" from UCA with 285's.

I know you guys are tired of answering these type of questions but the only reason I’m asking is because Discount Tire said I have to stay with 275s. I think I could go to 295s but not sure how close is too close. There are a lot of experts on this site that have dealt with this I’m sure. Just looking for help before I throw away a bunch of money on tires.

Personally, I think you’d be ok.

But, I am, in no way, an expert!

What say you @Hattori seen anything like OP’s describing?

wow buddy I dunno about a 295 omg. you may squeeze a 285 on there keeping your fingers crossed. I would look in to a negative offset wheel.

You can run a 295/60/20 on the +50. It’s very close to the UCA. But plenty run it without issue.

You will be pretty close to that UCA going any wider or taller but you still have a little room. You can throw on a set of wheel spacers if you want to keep your current wheels if you get too close though. How tall did you go on your lift?

    A negative offset for 295’s? o_Oo_O

No, +18 offset would run 12.5’s without hitting the UCA’s. OP doesn’t need a negative offset for the size he wants.

For sure or get some wheel spacers. Alot of people frown on that but they are ok as long as you know how to use them and install them correctly.

Agreed not the best solution but the cheapest, I would tell discount tire to put them on worst case you get a set of spacers if they are rubbing...unless your looking at new wheels then go for something in the mid + 20's offset

Lol deleted my last post. Mine wasn’t on the stock wheels. You will easily fit the 285’s. I think you’ll fit 295’s too. Will be close but it should clear. Remember, only half the width you gain will go towards the uca. If you go to 295, that’s only 10mm, less than half an inch, towards the uca.

Thanks for the feedback. I did a 3/1 lift with Toytec Boss coilovers on front and Coachbuilder +2 shackles on back. It’s pretty much level right now. When I change tires I may dial down the front to 2.5” to get a little rake.

Like everyone else has said, you should be good. It’s like a 3rd gen on 17” wheels, they look like they’re gonna rub the calipers but no matter what they’ll never come into contact, dooooo it. I have 285/55/20’s and they’re close to the UCA but has never touched even on some axle twisting wheelin I’ve done. Waiting for the tires to go out then I’m going with a +25 method wheel in 17”.

I'm on 35x12.50s (like 315s in metric) with +50 offset, no spacers, stock UCA. I'm fairly close to the UCA, probably about 1/2" at the closest point. Ask DT to do a test fit. That's what I did. They were surprised 35s fit, but I had calculated it numerous times and knew they would.9C17EE0F-D458-4E4B-A75D-1C3E46DA0DDC.jpg

This is a fairly easy issue. You have 275 width. A 295 is 20mm wider. So measure your clearance in mm. Do you have more than 10mm to spare? If so then they will fit

Following hard! Trying to determine myself, 275/65/20 on stock with 3" lift or fit 285/65/20 is the question!

Not as tall but not as wide, so that's good. Which wheels you have?

ohh... you've got tons of room.

I went from 275/55/20 to 295/55/20 on the stock 20x9 +50mm offset wheel:

for my next set, I am going to go with 295/60/20.
