Need help/ideas for black rims on my tundra platinum. 20” rims. Don’t plan on lifting the truck. Any recommendations, tips, ideas would be helpful. Don’t have a lot of knowledge in this field so any information would be helpful.

Maybe get some oem toyota trd wheels and have them powder coated? The trd wheels are 18's and ride better than 20's. Cheaper to replace tires with 18's. You can get an 18" tire size that is a comparable diameter as the 20". Or paint those wheels black, and call it a day.

I think stock platinum is 275/55/20.
Trd wheel 275/65/18 same diameter as the 20"

I’ve heard you can’t powder coat the middle cap. Is that true?

Go with black and machined edges, when the sun hits then they look white. Go great with your color.

Really depends on how much you're looking to spend. Cast? Forged? Etc...

    Popular Choice:
    Fuel > HERE

    Other Choices:
    Arkon > HERE

Or you can stay with an OEM or even PC your wheels, the possibilities are endless honestly...

Bought a set of Platinum wheels just like my 1794. Taking down to have powder coat glossy black today. Going to take the center cap to a local body shop to have them match the wheels once they are done. $300 for all 4. Working for Snapon has it's advantages.

Since you don't intend to lift your truck, you should look for a wheel within a specific offset range, i.e. +18 to +35. I would recommend you stick with +25 or higher (+25 to +35) so there will be no rubbing. So for example, a good 20" stock replacement wheel will be something like a Method NV: 20x9, +25, with 275/60r20 tires. These wheels will sit flush, and the tires will be 33" vs stock 32". With these specs, there will be no issues.

Or a cheaper alternative is to simply put 1.25" hubcentric spacers on your stock wheels and use the same tire size listed above.

    Good luck!

Would love to see some pics when finished. Don't mind me asking, what does it run a wheel?

Looks sharp. If my wheels don’t sell I may do the same, and keep them for winter wheels.
