    TUNDRAS TO SEDONA - Home

It’s official - Tundras to Sedona 2019 is a month away!

    April 24-28, 2019

Mark your calendars, put in for vacation, quit your job, whatever it takes - join us for the largest Off Road Tundra event in the country (probably the world, but we don’t wanna brag).

This is all about camping, 4-wheeling and scenic 2wd drives in and around Sedona, Arizona with a bunch of Toyota Tundra owners from across the country.
We raise money for a local charity through a vendor sponsored raffle.
This is a family and pet friendly event, so there’s no reason for anyone to stay home!

Camp location, sponsors, schedule and registration details will follow.

    See you in April! www.instagram.com/tundrastosedona

Ok everyone, we’re getting pretty geeked - it’s close, and I know registration isn’t open yet.

I apologize for not having it ready, but I promise it will make the event so much smoother this year. Anyone who has attended before knows it’s been a SNAFU getting teams together every day for the trail runs. That all changes this year. When you register to attend, you’ll pick the days, times and trails you want to run so there’s a schedule ahead of time (keep reading for more info about trails).

We have a great team of Trail Leaders on board who will lead the small groups as a single point of contact for their trail team (teams will change daily based on what trails you sign up for, and you may not always have the same Trail Leader). The Trail Leaders are being outfitted with donations from SDHQ and further equipped by some of the brands they carry (thanks Joey for the assist on so much of this!). Each team will be outfitted with at least two radios courtesy of PCI Race Radios. This way the lead and tail can stay in contact and keep the group together, or respond to spotting needs on the trail.

Bubba Rope is also stepping up to make sure the teams have some recovery gear for when things get really fun - I personally think recovery is a natural part of trails, and feel a little empty if someone doesn’t get stuck (don’t worry, not every trail has opportunity for this level of entertainment - the Easy trails are just that.)

Gaia GPS is sponsoring trail navigation this year and we’re hosting the trails on their site. If you already have a Gaia account, you’ll be able to click links from our T2S webpage and sync the routes directly to your account and device by logging in to Gaia. If you don’t already have an account, it’s easy and only $19 for the basic membership. All of our volunteer Trail Leaders are getting a 1 year Premium subscription donated by Gaia so we don’t get lost. For those who prefer to save the .gpx or .kml files directly to their device, we’ll have them available on the T2S website also.

Shirts and raffle tickets follow the same pricing as always and will be available for purchase during registration and on-site. $20 for a shirt, and the raffle tickets are tiered - the more you buy, the cheaper per ticket. Every dollar raised goes directly to Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels to support the work they do on Comfy Cozy’s for Chemo and also their direct contact with kids and families of childhood cancer. This is a local charity that works in the communities where we live, and every dollar we raise can have a big impact on a small life. We’re able to donate the full $20 per shirt to Amanda Hope because Dirty Deeds not only donates exhaust systems to the raffle, but he pays for the shirts entirely and donates them to us. Thanks Keith!

If you’ll be there Thursday, don’t forget to bring your work gloves and an appetite! Findlay Toyota of Flagstaff will bring their Tailgating Tundra and feed all the volunteers who do trail and campsite cleanup with us. Every year we partner with the US Forest service to help them take care of the land we love. They bring out tools and garbage bags and escort us to the location they need the most help. With a little instruction about what to do, we get busy cleaning up for an hour or two, and then everyone breaks out to their afternoon trail runs.

Based on feedback from previous events, we’re making some updates to the general camp layout and overall structure of the event. We plan to have the camp site split up a little bit so families with kids have an area that is a bit separated from the noise and shenanigans of the general population. We want the kids to be safe away from traffic and also have a more quiet environment at bedtime. We’re not talking about a total separation of church and state here, just grouping people more appropriately in the space we have available. Luckily the location we’re at lends itself to this nicely.

We’re also going to spread out the raffle a little bit - share the love, so to speak. Instead of having one giant raffle on Saturday morning, we’ll be pulling a couple tickets each night starting Wednesday night. So show up early, and hang out late. We’ll still have a big raffle Saturday morning, just maybe not quiiiite as big as usual because we’re spreading it around some. No, I’m not telling you what items will be raffled on what nights. Mostly because we haven’t decided yet, but also because there’s no fun in a surprise that’s not surprising. We’re also going to give stuff away for “random reasons” throughout the event. Be on the lookout all week for prizes from our amazing sponsors who are all donating to the Tundra offroad community.

This post started out as a way to say that registration will be open soon, and it will. Even sooner if I stop writing this and get back to work on the software.

We're driving in from Ohio. :D

I believe we also have Tennessee, Virginia, Florida, Louisiana, Canada and a handful of closer states all confirmed as attending. North Carolina could put you in contention for the Longest Drive award. ;)
Thanks! It seemed important to clarify a few things for folks since we've gotten behind on registration and some website updates.

Hmmmn, maybe @ARamirez73 could shed some light on how I, and dozens of our dirt-and-rocks loving buddies could launch an effective cheerleading campaign.... :D

If @ColoradoTJ would prefer a 6-er of his choice of San Diego craft beer... delivered to him... via you.... at T2S... I could make that happen. But I only trust you, @smslavin, with the northern leg of this delivery. I'll have to pack the *5h!+* out of it to keep it from breaking. Despite all precautions, secondaries to soften the ride home to CO will make all the difference.
