For the navigation bypass I know you install a switch on the spd wire (Pin 17), I have heard of people installing a switch on the park brake circuit also, why are they doing the park brake.

Depends on the headunit but some require the parking brake to be on to play video.

Almost all Nav systems require you to be parked in order to use it. That's why many people put in a bypass on that. Some even require the e-brake to be press before it allows you to change anything. That's why most do this to prevent anything else from coming up, hope this helps.

Thanks for all the replies, I was curious cause I did the Nav mod (toggle switch on Pin 17 of the spd wire) on my 2016 Tundra and all worked fine so I was just checking on the reason why some people were also doing the park brake.

Do you happen to know which wire (pin#) is for the parking brake?
