Finished (mostly) installing my new audio setup in my 2007 SR5 Crewmax.

    The setup:
H/U: Kenwood Excelon DMX905S Digital Multimedia Receiver
Interface: Crux SWRTY-61S Toyota Radio Interface W/SWC Retention
    Amp: Alpine MRV-V500 (40 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms + 250 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms)
Rear Door Speakers: Hertz k170 component (70W)
Front Door Speakers: Hertz k170 component (70W)
Dash Speakers (Left Right): Infinity reference 3022 cfx 3.5 (75W)
Dash Center Speaker: 2x JL Audio C1 tweeters (50W)
    Sub: Pioneer TS-SWX2502 10 inch Shallow-Mount Pre-Loaded Enclosure (400 W)
Inverter: Victron Power Inverter 350W Phoenix 12/350 350VA
Sound Enhance: Sound Deadening/rattle stop inner outer door skins x4 and rear cab wall.

Everything is in, and sounds good. Other than a few odds and ends and a PhD in Kenwood programming/setup, the last remaining hurdle is the steering wheel controls. They do not work at all. I did change the steering wheel to a 2011 to get the buttons, and the circular harness in my column had the audio input for the controls, however, I realize that doesn't mean there is wiring between the column and the receiver. Is there an easy way to check this? or somewhere I can look to see if I'm missing a harness? I am going to pull the stereo out again to tie up loose ends and I will check the harness ends to see if there are pins. If the harness/connection is not there, is it hard to add? Any insight would be helpful.
    Thanks.

I am far from an expert on this topic but done enough research to be dangerous. I believe you need one of the Maestro modules to get the steering wheel controls to work.

Well that is what Crutchfield included with mine, although the maestro was an option. I am now wondering if I should have plugged the Crux SWRTY-61S into the idatalink jack on the back of the Kenwood. I didn't do that.
