Looking at the available tri-fold bed covers for my 19 Tundra. What brand/model is the best (cost is not a factor) for this type of bed cover? Thanks.

Ive had undercover flex for years. I would not buy it again. Its not bad quality, just inconvenient. Only buy one that advertises the tailgate open/shut without opening the cover. Undercover suggests opening the cover to close tailgate.

There are many good choices. A lot depends on what attributes you consider to make it the best. Are you looking for rugged, classy, secure, best looking, longest lasting, most water resistant, or what?

I chose the UnderCover Ultra Flex for my '19 Limited because it was recommended by someone who's opinion I respect, it looks good, is reasonably secure, and reasonably water tight. I am happy with it as a good tonneau. That said, I think I should have gotten a cap instead because I would like to fit more stuff under cover in the bed that I can fit under the tonneau. I will likely buy a cap in the next year or two.

Geezer, all those attributes are important to me, I'm sure not one cover will hit all of them, but what hits most of them? I do prefer the harder tri-folds versus the softer covers, security is likely least important, ease of installation is important, and I definately want one that folds all the way up at the cab (even though vision is blocked).

I have the Ex-Tang Solid fold 2.0 on my CM and love it. I had the Solid Fold 1.0 on my old Double Cab as well.

They are great. They do not fold the whole way up though, but it only takes 2 minutes to take it off completely.

Love my Rugged Cover 2 tri fold. Takes 30 seconds to put on or remove and have had no leaks whatsoever.

I know cost is not a factor, but I just installed a Tonno Pro Tri-fold cover and it seems to be a quality product. Easy to install/remove and it was only $200 on Amazon.

My vote goes to Bakflip MX4. Low profile and looks really nice with the matte black finish.

Another thumbs up for the Rugged Covers. Mine has been great since October.13FD10B1-A792-4F00-AF62-E86453C8EE00.jpg 65E2EA97-5462-4579-A270-3AAD7C3E1F20.jpg49F9E45E-9AA5-4A71-B4A9-15AC3E83A7C7.jpg

I’ve heard great things about the bakflip MX4. I’m going to switch over to that ones I get rid of my snug top cover.

I installed a BAKflip MX4. Got a great deal from autoanything via the member here (look for autoanything thread in the deals section). So far I love it.

Thanks to all for the advice, I decided on the MX4 Backflip in matte black.. Got it ordered for $890 at a local dealer, can't wait to get this thing installed.

Awesome! You're going to love it. I installed the pop n lock on the tailgate for added security.

How strong do you feel the side rails are after they have been relocated?

They are still decently strong but definitely not as rigid as the original position. If it was a heavy item I would use the loops in the bed sides. But for securing a tarp or something I see no issues. I had the load rails on my Tacoma before this and rarely used them for anything other then bungies over tarps. Any real loads were tied down to the stronger bed loops so I felt this relocation kit was adequate. If you plan to use the rails at their rated 200lb per clip capacity I would reconsider this bed cover and the relocation brackets. 200lb would likely bend them.

Also, I painted my brackets since they came shiny and scratched. I did a hammered silver to match the bed rug.

did the undercover ultra flex come with the brackets to relocate the factory bed rails? or did you have to get that separately? If separate do you have a link to the product info? Thanks!
