2013 Prius. It's sucks, has no guts, gets you cut off all the time, feels like its made of RC car parts, handles bad, etc, etc. None of that matters though, was cheap and gets 450+ miles on 10 gallons. If the lady doesn't use it on the weekends, $30 a month to fill.

Beater: A 2007 bright orange VW GTI. It's got 179k on her since I bought it new in February '08. It features include: a golf ball size dent on the front I rear-ended a red Mazda Miata, some sunrise burnt orange accent rust over the passenger side wheel well, power sunroof that you wouldn't dare take through a car wash, and a hatred of 3rd gear... But she is a sweetheart.

A lot of her internals are newer than 2007 as I've had to replace some stuff (it is a VW remember).

My wife loathes this vehicle, but it drives like a turbo golf cart. After I hit 200k, which will happen if I have to push it the next 21k as this is personal at this point, I don't care which cliff she drives off of. It'll have done it's job.

Low teens, about what I'd expect from that rig with a lift and knobby tires.

My wife wants a 4runner. But it’s hard for me to justify a third vehicle getting low teens gas mileage. She also wants a jeep but that’s a big fat no! My other two cars are and 03 Sequoia and then 08 XB. XB 5 speed FTW!

We had one of those too! That’s actually what she had when we first got together. At first I laughed at it but then it grew on me. But man that thing had trouble getting out of its own way out on the highway. I went to pass someone, and realized I wasn’t going anywhere and had to drop back in LOL. Definitely need to think ahead if you want to pass. Floor it and then wait... and then wait some more and then merge LMFAO. So we traded it for the 08. It was hard finding a manual transmission. But we got a huge sunroof that was installed by the dealer before hand.

Actually we did it ass backwards. I have a 2000 Ford F-150 with 217000 miles,no problems and no rust, runs great. Wife has a 2010 Pontiac G6 with 149000 miles, no problems and runs great.
Bought us both new vehicles. 2018 Tundra and 2018 RAV4. Both sit in the garage over the winter while we drive our “beaters”!

I mean, similar to a Tundra, they're a great value. A person could get into a 4Runner fully expecting that, with proper maintenance, 300k miles is completely achievable. 4Runners also have that whole "Toyota Residual Value" thing going on, where it doesn't make any sense to buy a used one, since a few k more $ can get you into a new one. Just my .02...

I think the little niche now is getting a used Scion for a beater. Toyota quality but they are going for dirt cheap. I have been looking into getting a little TC for my daughter. I’m not looking for resale I’m looking for longevity for the kid. Might sell the Sequoia.

My vote is to get a 2nd Tundra and trade off days driving them. Then you get to always drive a Tundra, but they accrue miles half as quickly.

2007 Accord. It was my wife’s vehicle before her Sequoia. 128k miles just regular maintenance. I am thinking about upgrading it to a 10 year old Lexus/Toyota small SUV. When vehicles are that old they all seem to fall in the $3k-$6k price range.

I have a scion XB. Love the car but I’ll sell it to get my new tundra in the next year or two depending on what they do with the next gen.

Yeah man. That truck is going no where. I’m slowly restoring it. The tundra will be the adventure truck and the F150 will be the show/beach truck

2009 civic for my DD. 28-30 mpg. Feel like I'm handing my man card in sometimes when driving it, instead of the truck but, then realize that wad of cash in my pocket feels much better in my pocket.

I have a Subaru Outback Limited That I put 39K on since December 2017. I have had jokes thrown my way about driving a Subaru, but it has been a solid performer and has allowed the heavy mileage I put on the Tundra to slowly catch up. The cool thing is when I drive the Tundra it reminds me of the feeling of the day I got it.
