Rear drivers side window, not working. What's wrong?

I noticed I couldnt roll down the read drivers side window today. I was trying with my controls in the drivers seat. Then tried the switch on that door and still nothing. The switch felt strange back there when I tried, it kinda clicked and felt maybe stuck. I took the door panels off and switches out and they looked fine but still not working when I reinstalled.
Blown fuse? I cant find that fuse
Did my switch break? Would this make front switch also not work?
Any ideas would be great. I have a 100k mile platinum warranty, so I could bring it in, i think it covers electrical but hate to waste time doing that.

    Thanks

Did you try the window lock switch on driver door?

I didnt, thinking it would likely effect all the other windows as well

Did you hear a loud pop at some point? I had regulators go bad in my xterra. It's the part where the wire cable spools to move window up and down and the plastic part broke and the wire would bind preventing me from rolling up or down. But it was obvious the motor was working FWIW. It would struggle but move the window a tad. At least on those it looked like I could swap motor across different doors to test it on a different door to rule that out if needed.

Its just the one window not working. The switch is hanging up and making a clicking noise when I try to use it. I will call them and see if it is covered. I assume its the switch at this point because it's making that weird noise and clicking

So it went from just the one window not working to both rear windows and the rear sliding glass window. Front windows still work..I have no clue what it going on. I had an appointment for tomorrow. I hope my platinum warranty covers this stuff

Could it be the individual window actuator gone bad? I had this in my wife's 4Runner and that's what it was for her. Replaced actuator and problem was resolved. Front driver side window in her case

Checked. No luck. I figured the same thing that it would effect all windows. This is weird

I have an 845 appointment tomorrow. Hopefully they will drive me from the shop to the sugar house so I can get the other truck. I'll head out and collect some sap while they are diagnosing the issue. If not I'll need a rental which I doubt they will cover

I just hope they dont try to charge me. I bought the platinum warranty just for this type of thing. I knew the drivetrain would be fine forever. It's the little stuff I worryabout, like this window issue. Those parts add up fast so I really hope its covered

No deductible on my policy. I have the one backed by Toyota (some are not). I bought it from the lady that everyone recommends on this forum. If you have that one, then no deductible

So, i'm back at home now, looking at my Warranty paperwork for you. I can def confirm: no deductible AND (if you have the same Warranty) they offer $50/day for 'substitute transportation', you get 5 days per repair visit. So, maybe they will cover your rental.

This one is called Toyota Financial Services, Vehicle Service Agreement, Platinum warranty. mine is the 125,000 mile product so hopefully you're still in that window of whatever you bought.

Take a look at the PDF, page 3, under Electrical. you'll see all your window components seem to be covered.

Anyway, hope that helps. Let us know what they say. i'm still thinking actuator..

More than likely it's either the switch or window motor. A bit odd that both would stop working that close together, but not unheard of. I just replaced both rear door lock actuators on my son's 2004 Corolla last weekend. Both died around the same time as well.

It's weird. First it was the rear drivers side switch. Then yesterday the rear passenger stopped working and this morning my back window wouldn't go up. Front 2 windows work fine

Your Platinum warranty covers it. I wouldn’t worry to much just let Toyota trouble shoot it.

That’s why you got the warranty

It’s weird that if it’s an actuator it doesn’t communicate with the others

Im thinking the drivers switch is bad. In my Chevy I got a little water in the driver side switch and it failed causing none of my windows to work. It controlled all of them. I want to say it’s like the master and all other windows are routed through it.

On Fords when regulator breaks the window drops. Common problem and another reason not to buy a Ford.

I'm thinking it's the main switch on the drivers door or possibly the BCM (body control module). I read over my warranty info and both and pretty much everything is covered. I hope they get it fixed in one day. Or at least can get my windows up til they gets the parts, I had to drive my daughter to school, windows down in 35° wetaher this morning. Lucky no rain. I hope it's a one day fix because I am supposed to get my new stereo installed Sunday and I'd hate to miss that appointment.
It's a zero deductible warranty til Nov 2021 or 100k over factory warranty, I'm sure glad I got it, this alone could end up being worth the $1250 purchase price. First extended warranty I have ever bought.

I hope they don't balk at any of my aftermarket items installed such as footwell led lights, cupholder led light, speakers, 2018 led headlights.... I bought the truck certified pre owned and if they ask I will say everything was there when I bought it, well other than the 2018 lights since I got the truck in 2016.

Appointment is at 845 a.m. I will ask for a rental since I do get $50 a day in the platinum warranty for that. If not, at least a drive back home to my 1995 Chevy 1500 w/t aka the maple sap collector. Nice old truck with 35k miles on it.

    Wish me luck

Dropped off, waiting for a shuttle back to my house. The guy said if they need to keep it overnight that they will get me a rental under the warranty so that's nice.

They called and asked when I put in new speakers and footwell LEDs. I knew they'd ask. Idk how that effects warranty. I said they were there but they havent gotten to the 18 LED headlights yet. I can't really avoid saying I did those. I think they have to prove the mods caused the problem which would be hard to do I suppose

Yea, hard to prove the mods are the root cause of the problem you’re having.

Did they seem pushy about the mods or are they trying to work with you?

They weren't pushy at all, they were just gathering info I think to see if a recent mod would have caused the issue. Also I don't think he was happy with all the sound deadening that he has to work around but... oh well.

So I will not be getting my truck back today. They did provide me with a free rental through the platinum warranty which is nice. It's a 2019 Yaris, what a piece of junk lol.

The service manager says that they believe the drivers rear switch went bad, maybe due to rain or snow getting it wet. Which broke that switch and it eventually effected the main control panel in the driver seat door.
This is where I start to get angry. They are not 100% sure that buying a new main control panel and new rear window switch will fix the issue, and they had no used switches to try to troubleshoot with. They refuse to buy new switches until he does more troubleshooting and is certain the new switches will work. Which won't happen today or likely tomorrow. He says he doesn't wanna buy the non returnable switches and have to eat that cost if they don't work. That's not my problem and kinda pisses me off. If the switches don't fix the issue it's probably the body control module which they will replace under warranty. So I'm stuck without my truck until the service manager decides to acutally try to fix the problem rather than looking for a possibly cheaper repair solution. I bet if it wasn't under warranty they would have done new switches and charged me for them.
So for now it's not fixed and I'm driving a red yaris that even my 7 year old says is not cool at all.
