    Hi all,
Been shopping for a truck for about 8months. Narrowed the search down to an F150 or Tundra several months back and then finally narrowed it to "Tundra Only" late last month. Was looking high and low and was starting to get discouraged when I heard my friend was unloading his 1794. I wasn't a huge fan of the color but it had everything else I wanted and the price was right so I pounced.

I've been lurking here for a while learning what I can and after reading so many Tundra owners just loving their trucks well into the 200k range, it just seemed like the right thing to do. I had my Sierra for 19yrs and will be selling it soon. My GMC has been an amazing truck but it was time for daddy to upgrade and finally get something nice. Speaking to that point, my biggest issue is that I'm already terrified to get it dirty bc it's just immaculate and beautiful. Toyota kinda screwed up w this nutty 1794 package, honestly. It's not something i even feel right driving down a dirt road with. Hopefully I'll get over that soon. :)

Anyway, thanks everyone for all your posts and for all the great info you all have shared to make my decision making process easier. I'm looking forward to learning lots more from you all as I start venturing into making changes. Here are my projected upgrades. I'd love to hear any thoughts or advice on these:

Plasti-Dip/Rattle-bomb bedliner: Toooo much chrome!! Looking to cover the grille (minus emblem), bumper ends, mirror tops and door handles with either plasti-dip or spray bedliner.

3" Lift: Was thinking of going with Low Range Offroad's 3" kit and 33" tires on the stock rims.

Removing camper shell and getting a tool box

Removing running boards: Just not a fan.

Big steel front/rear bumpers: Not sure of the brand but i've seen them around. Basically just a big iron welded steel bumper possibly w shackles and winch roller fairlead.

Congrats on your purchase. Correct choice. The older Gmcs were great. I had a 2000 Sierra that wouldn’t die. New ones are junk.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome and input on my intended mods. Funny thing about the lift/tires thing. I haven't owned an offroad vehicle since my old Jeep and, wrt that thing 33" is quite an upgrade. So w the size of this truck, I didn't realize that the stock tires on there are pretty much already 33". Sooo yeah, gotta re-think that one. Maybe 2" leveling kit and 34.5,... 285/65-20 or something to that effect. Gotta relearn a bunch of stuff. Old dog new tricks kinda moment for me.

Now i'm back off to scouring, lurking and learning from the metric tons of info and already-asked questions here in the boards...
