So my 2015 has a small dealership badge on the tailgate that has always bothered me and I want it off. Its either cheap metal or plastic(most likely)and has very little tolerance between the paint and the badge itself. Im afraid that if I use a prying instrument that will damage the paint etc. Has anyone had experience with this? It's paid off and I hate advertising for them. Always have. Thanks!

Get it nice and warm and use fishing line. Then your choice of goof off, WD-40 etc. to get the glue off. Then give it a little polish and wax.

Use a hair dryer or glue gun to heat the badge. At the same time run fishing line behind the badge.
    May take a few minutes.
Goo gone should remove any residue from the badge’s glue.

Anything that will heat the badge and loosen the glue. If you heat it hot enough, badge will just about slide off. Gloves may be needed though.

Exactly. Most of the time just a length of fishing line used in a sawing motion will do it. The residue came right off mine with a little bit of wd40 on a rag

I had one on an 95. I just pulled it off. It was double sided tape, the thicker foam style, that just split in the middle and then used a goo gone. Sounds like this is thinner? Adhesives probably way better now.

I use a heat gun and dental floss or fishing line. Just take your time heating it up. go slow on a low heat. I use a 3m eraser wheel when I am done, sometimes I use rapid remover if needed (Amazon). Then i buff or correct any ghosting or marks left.

Goo Gone, a stiff fart & WD40 will also remove the thin water based clearcoat IMO. I just used several waxing's of the area. Safest IMO.
