Hey gents quick question. I just tried to purchase a set of spiked lug nuts for my 13 Tundra but they did not fit. The size said 14x2 on them. I looked them up on Amazon and I'm getting 14X1.5. If that's the case then wouldn't 14x2 be larger than 14x1.5? They didn't even go in. Can someone tell me what the lug nut size is. TIA

14x1.5 is the correct lug nut size. 14mm is the diameter of the lug that the nut must fit. 1.5 is the thread pitch.

So you bought lug nuts with the right diameter, but the wrong pitch. They won’t fit the threads on the lug.

The height of the lug nut is a different number, usually the third number. So something like 14mmx1.5x1.87in.

Depending on whether you have steels (conical) or alloys (hat shaped) will dictate the style of lug nut you need, but diameter and pitch are the same.

There are many threads that go into detail about this.

Well luckily I didn't buy them. I tried one to see if it fit and it was a no go. I'm just going to order some on Amazon. So 14x1.5 is the correct size then for my year Tundra? Thanks again for your advice.

    Yes 14x1.5.

The hat shaped ones fit that alloy wheel.

I have a 2005 Tundra, the 14*1.5 are too big diameter, they literally can go over the stud without making contact. Any suggestions?

Try a thread for 1st gens. Not secon gen

Also you could try taking one off your current wheels. Might be labeled I know mine are

But @shifty` to the rescue woth the first gen info

1st gen Tundras use a superior number of wheel studs, which are M12x1.5 thread, so your nut will need to match. Be sure to get the correct style of nut for your application, since OEM steel wheels and OEM alloy wheels use different nuts, someone touched on that point above.

Be careful to verify which subforum your search result is from, because these little differences can have you blowing money on stuff that’s not compatible. Always look where you are, or check the “search this forum only” option box in the search while your in the related sub forum. I realize wheel/tire forum is logical, but 1st gen subforum will get you generation-specific info wheel/tire forum won’t.

Side note: Wheel studs front and rear are also different lengths on 1st gen, which trips some people up.
