ff of 2013 lone star edition. The wheels show their age but are structurally sound.
The tires are Michelin defender ltx m/s with tons of life left. 275/55/20. These just came off the truck and have not been sitting. No sensors.

Stuff like this. Just aging of chrome. May be able to polish them with decent results. Some curb rash as well.

Tires alone are worth it, even if half worn they'll go another 30k. Would be nice for someone running MT or AT if they are taking a long highway drive or need winter tire. As for the wheels maybe a good polish would do it, paint or powder coat is fairly cheap. GLWS

Shipping would be well over $200. And a lot of hassle. Sorry.

Actually it is the clear coat on the wheels breaking down. The exact same wheels on my 2013 did/are doing the same thing and most of the other Texas Edition Tundras with that wheel package, local to me, are exhibiting the same issue. You can scrape off the failed clear coat with your finger nails or a plastic/nylon panel remover in the really bad places. Simple solution is to remove the remaining clear coat and polish the now bare aluminum (Mothers or similar polishing ball/wheel/pad) and putting some kind of protectorate on them as needed to keep the corrosion away. These are 20" "diamond cut" so you'll still get a bit of refracted light and it won't look too much like chrome.

Good price for them so someone needs to snap them up!

I have same wheels as well and same problem. Craziest thing, can scrap off easily with fingernail but can't seem to get off any other way. Glad I came across your post. Have you had any luck and if so, what products, ways? Thanks!!

I machined a .5 derlin block into a scraper with a 45 degree angle, rounded the edges and just went to town one weekend. The derlin is hard enough to scrape the cc off, but softer than the aluminum. See if your SO has a hard plastic pan scraper and commandeer it for the cause!

I'd bet that Easy-off (the stinky version) would work also as would acetone, but try it one a small spot first!

Didn't think of that. Will have to give them a try! Thanks.
