I have lived in southeast Ohio for most of my 60 years. Hunting and fishing are both great around here. There is a parade of turkey, deer, and squirrel through our yard every day. Many hunters from Cleveland, Canton/Akron buy land around here in order to have a good place to hunt. Good schools and affordable housing. Kings Island and Cedar Point. Many state parks and lakes. 6-10 seasons per year. Who could ask for more?

I thank you all for your replies. I can take a little from each suggestion. This would be a huge move if we did it, kids are 13 and 14. The wife would have to get used to a new place. I will go and visit if we keep thinking this is something we may do. I work in a shipyard this new job would be residential so that right there would be a huge change. The most would be a basement and an attic. Not the double bottoms and deck 15.

so far, by my scientific calculations, you're in the hole.

i spend a lot of time in cleveland. not a fan. there are some nice spots and i've found some interesting neighborhoods with great food. winter weather blows and i'm not usually one to complain about cold and snow. lake effect blizzards suck.

mid west is a lifestyle change more than anything. if you're serious, you've got to take the whole family, not just you, for a long weekend to check it out. moving high schoolers will be a... um... challenge.

    Part Time,

I’m in a suburb of Cleveland. Actually in Medina, Ohio. What would you like to know?

I’ve lived here now for 18 years. Before it was 14 years in suburb of Atlanta, GA. And before GA. It was Strongsville, OH.

The Cleveland, Akron suburbs are much better than living in downtown Cleveland.

The west side of Cleveland generally gets less snow than the east side of Cleveland.

There are many things to do in Ohio and we’re not far from a days drive to an Atlantic coast beach getaway.

PM me if you would like to ask anything about my area.

Sorry, but Cedar Point is more like +1000 and nowhere comparable to Kings Island. :)
