I am a new member but I was asked to post updates of my Tundra buggie project.
We are working on the chassis starting with the rear suspension. This week I will post new pictures since the ones I am posting today are from 2 weeks ago.
We will finish the frame but I have no idea how we will handle all the electronics. Probably with a Motec M1 or similar ECU but the transmission operation will probably be the hardest part. We will sort it out on the way. In the meantime here are some pictures.
Anyone has experience on dumping the original ECU and using an open ECU to control the Toyota V8 engine, 6 speed automatic trannie and transfer case?

The metal fabrication is going fine. Anyone knows if there is a piggyback/ECU to run the original Toyota auto trannie?

yep bank account is running low from it..
I don't think there is a piggyback available.. the only thing I know is the stand alone what they use in the high performance supras.

After having someone review the electronic diagrams there are only 2 ways to run the auto transmission: one is to install all the original wiring harness, transmission commands, speedometer, etc, original ECU and just eliminate the non functional funcions. The other way is to buy an aftermarket ECU for the engine and change the transmission to a GM or other transmission. I prefer to keep everything Totota so I need to buy all the electronics needed. Anyone can recommend a good junkyard that can get all these for me?
    thanks
