I've heard this to, titan 0-60 is 5.9 and Tundra is 6.5, so not a huge difference. The stock exhaust note on the Titan though is awesome sounding.

Yeah, for the non-XD versions like mine, 0-60 in the low 6ish range but the larger, heavier XD versions are around 7.5 secs which is quite the difference. The XD versions are also not quite a 3/4-ton so kind of a weird position; more like a 5/8-ton which seems pointless to me as you don't get the benefits of either the 1/2-ton or 3/4-ton.

Just an update on my Tundra. Been using it for a few days and the two features I love are interior room and roll down rear window! Those are awesome, glad I went with the Yota. I've been in all sorts of trucks and the Tundra has the biggest room by far especially the rear leg room which is HUGE. Kids and wife have been loving it in the back seats. I've picked up a decked drawer system for the bed at my local 4WP and looks great (as I barely use the bed...just the hitch). All in all, happy camper.

nice! and, good decision over the titan. trust me, owned a 2nd gen; absolutely NOTHING like the 1st.

very much enjoy that the entire back glass rolls down.

i've heard someone mention that our tundras have soul, and i have to entirely agree.

when on four wheels, i'll be in my tundra. when on two wheels, i'll be on the harley. most likely forever for each.

Not really; I recently thought I was going to have a chance to try the PRO 4X out on some high mountain passes in Colorado where I typically took my built Tundra (as well as my built-up 4Runner) since that would have been another interesting comparo between the two full-sized trucks but my work schedule got in the way (as usual). But so far, no issues at all with the truck and I still really enjoy driving it (again, much more responsive than the Tundra). As with anything else over some time, I have become much more accustomed to the looks (especially after the rest of my mods) and I do get a lot of interest from folks asking about the truck, but nothing like my Tundra (I still get dozens of notifications each week of my Tundra photos being shared thousands of times on Pinterest and other sites...crazy).

For a different perspective, and one more aligned with some of the anti-Titan sentiment expressed in this thread, is an update on my business partner's brand new Titan SV Midnight Edition. We purchased his company truck at same time I got mine; his is a 4x4 too but without all of the functional off-road features and luxury options of my PRO 4X. In its dark grey and black theme with 20-inch black wheels, grille, etc., it does look a tad more put together from a visual sense, but his truck has had nothing but issues (been to dealer 3 times already and needs to go back) so it really does play into the "reliability" issue that Nissan suffers from (especially when compared to Toyota). So we'll see what happens; I suspect as our business grows, we'll assign the Titans as field vehicles. For now though, I personally can't complain about mine and therefore nothing new to report.

There may be a few cases where the employee is the issue, but that's not Nissan's problem. Their problem stems from going from Japanese owned and operated to French owned. Nissan's up until the early 2000's were great vehicles, but since Renault has taken the reigns it has declined. The company now only cares about moving volume at the lowest cost possible and "perceived quality" (there is an actual design group within Nissan named this). Even at the plant level (Canton specifically), the leadership has dwindled over the years and that is why the quality has continued to suffer; NOT because of the actual assembly technician.

*Full disclosure... I was an Engineer at the Canton plant several years ago and recently worked for a supplier to the plant.

I have a buddy that had a gas Titan 4x4 for about 4 years and traded it for the 4x4 diesel when it came out a couple of years ago. He asked me why I didn't even look at one when I bought my Tundra, I told him I'm not a tightwad and that just looking at yours makes my head hurt. He loves the truck though.

Coming from a previous Titan owner (2004 and 2007) - I hate (really hate) the latest Titan. IMO it was officially the fugliest truck....until the 2019 Silverado.

I just traded in a 2004 Nissan titan 4x4 crew cab. 190,000 and didnt have any major issues. I replaced the rear end seals but that was it. She was a great truck. Now I'm into a Tundra and hope to get the same if not more out of it.

No, it is the 1/2-ton model. Since I have a 3-inch Icon lift, it is about the same height as a leveled XD. The easiest way to differentiate between the two models is that the 1/2-ton does not have the ugly side plagues on the fenders (see mine below).

    Ouray_003_zpszcucqldt_7e6323a5eee82c8bed57e45cf8936e7f4e0fe5ef.jpg

Just went on a 660 mile trip to Colorado in the Titan and averaged 17.6 mpg while doing 80 mph on highway while also taking the rig offroading to over 11,000 ft. behind Imogene Pass. Not bad considering I am running a big V8 too with Icon 3-inch coilover suspension lift and 34s. Same exact trip with the Tundra with similar V8 power, King 3-inch coilover suspension lift, and 35s netted 11 mpg. The 7-spd in the Titan really helped of course and the newer engine is a lot more efficient (and responsive too). Also, my rear end is setup much better with my current build over my former Tundra build so didn't drop the rear end at all when coming off boulders like with the Tundra (partially my fault since I also used Coachbuilder rear shackles on the Tundra).

I do wish Toyota would go ahead and update the Tundra/Land Cruiser power- and drive-trains soon as that would make for another interesting build (except maybe with a Land Cruiser this time)

Prior to my Tundra I had an 04 Titan Platinum. It was a great truck. at 11 years old and 160K on her I went to trade her in on a new truck. Unfortunately they changed to the Ford F150 looking Turd they have now. I cant stand the way it looks. One of my best friends who was a GM for a large Nissan dealer bought one when he retired. He has had nothing but problems with it. Hates the truck. Im glad I walked next door to the Toyota dealer and bought my Tundra.

I actually like the way this Titan looks in white color. I think with a little work most trucks can look good.

Honestly due to boring Tundra interior and so so MPG I been considering F150, Ram 1500. But not Chevy. I love Chevy interiors and options. Hate the problems.

Yeah, as I mentioned previously, my business partner also bought a brand new Titan (not a PRO 4X but a rather cool looking Midnight Edition) and also had nothing but problems. He loved the engine and factory ride but hated the fact that he had so many other issues. On the other hand, mine has been tight as a drum with no issues at all even when I beat it up a little when off-roading. I had a similar issue with my previous Nissan Murano that I purchased for my wife; lots of folks loved theirs but we had nothing but issues once the miles got on it. So I vowed I would never purchase another Nissan due to their "spotty" quality issues and crappy dealership service at the time...oops!

I think the XD is pretty ridiculous. The Cummins Crew Cab 4x4 XD tows a whopping 11,900lbs. The Cummins will cost you an additional $6,000 +/-. If you want a real super duty then buy one, this isn't it. You will never make that premium back in fuel mileage. Fuel economy is not a reason to buy a diesel, the truck will have lived its life long before you make up that difference.
