Anyone on here running 35’s on tundra 4x4 with 4:30 stock gears? If so how long and any issues with tranny or anything else? I lifted my truck 3inches and honestly it drives better and holds gears better than it did when it had the stock tires but not sure if I am hurting anything

I have heard so many mixed feelings on this issue. I'm not going to do anything about my truck honestly I think your fine also. I pull a camper even with my truck don't have any issues. I'm on a 6" lift with 35x12.5 18 and I'm with ya it holds the gears better i think then stock and like any truck I expect it to do some down shifting up hills

I've read countless times on this and it almost makes me question those selling them if it is all for getting your money when the truck doesn't need it(I'm not saying you don't need it). I have read people up to 37" tires stock gears no issues, the only thing some complain about is lack of power but that's obvious when you go bigger tires, some just put it on tow haul/dap tune or supercharger which would make a difference but if it was me personally I would get gears just for a piece of mind knowing I'm taking care of my truck. it would be good to know if someone made a study of how long before something breaks on bigger tires with stock gears versus bigger tires with gears. Maybe that's what those TFL guys on youtube should do, that's useful content.

I'm with you 100% I personally don't daily drive my truck so I'm not ready to gear it but I do understand the issues it could have in the future but running 35s still feels really good towing not much difference then stock. But Indiana is decently flat.

Wish I could get a straight answer from someone. Prior to the 35’s truck felt sluggish and pop outta gear before it could run the gear it was in Toyota said its normal and added 35’s feels like a sports car. Lol. But idk I guess I’ll find out only have 15k on the truck and love the look and feel of the bigger tires and hoping I don’t have to dump more money into it. I’m always getting a no your good and then theirs the I would if I were you.

Yep that all I have got on this subject but if I had the money I wouldn't only hear I would super charge also lol. But it's all money I don't have and the power my truck has I cant complain I can burn the tires right off of it if I want to lol with no problem.
