Hey folks! Just traded in my Tacoma TRD Sport for a 2019 Tundra Platinum (couldn’t pass up the deal!). LOVED my taco, but with two boys and a big dog the Tacoma wasn’t cutting it. Plus we’re moving to Alaska this summer and wanted tow capacity/more comfort for ride there. Left dealership late last night so haven’t had much time to get acquainted with the new ride. Love the size and the seats are awesome! Only disappointment is the color options on 2019s, but I dig the dark gray!

I rode with dealer to fill up the truck... $68 at a quarter tank, back to big truck costs Lol

Upgrades: I’ll be looking to do color matched handles and mirror caps, not a chrome guy. At some point I’ll swap out the wheels/tires. Not sure if I’ll powder coat or upgrade overall. Tires I want beefier with maintaining ride quality. Dealer will be installing black side steps, spray in liner, and Bakflip MX4 cover soon.

Welcome from CO. First upgrade/mod should be a nice salmon rod/reel combo and appropriate flies to take up with you to AK!

Hello from Florida. New to the Tundra, just upsized from a taco. Have to say I really loved that truck, TRD Sport 4x4, but my new Tundra is bad ass. I needed more towing power. I came over from Tacoma World, so hope to create great relationships here like there. They are a great bunch of people. Looking forward to being here.

Welcome to the club . I’m thinking of taking the plunge and trading up from my ‘08 Tundra to a new Platinum.
I hear Alaska’s very nice, we plan to go up with the camper some day...possibly with our new Platinum.

Awesome! I’ve heard it’s beautiful. The drive for us is about 51-hours, so I’m not as excited since it will be with little kiddos. But we’re going to turn it into a mini vaca. I debated between the Platinum, Limited, and TRD Pro. I eliminated the pro quickly as for a $50K truck it was missing to many features. Then comparing the Platinum vs the Limited, it came down to interior quality. Platinum just felt nicer, especially seats. Before equity in my Tacoma I was priced at $45,900 out the door ($47,500 with side steps, spray in liner, and Bed cover).

You picked a nice truck my friend :woot:
I’ve been comparing the Limited and Platinum as well and will probably go for the Platinum since it has more potions and better interior...I
just wish Toyota would make the Platinum with the 6.5’ box :notsure:
Alaska is a long way from Ottawa, Ontario but I’ll hopefully be retired soon so we can take our time and see the sights along the way. I’m hoping the Toyota Red Tag sales start soon so I can scoop up a good deal, if I do I’ll post some pics.
