My Tundra is a 2010 and has around 74,000 miles on it and it had developed a wheeze in the last two years and I can’t figure it out. Every time I crank it and drive it, it makes a weird wheeze and every time I slow down you can hear the wheeze shift down while the gears do. It’s been bothering me a lot lately and I was wondering if y’all could help me figure out what it is.

Have it lifted and play with each wheel and see if there’s any play on any of them, it’s just a guess but does it get louder as you go higher in mph?

I can’t really hear it in your video. What does it completely change pitch as it downshifts or is it just changing pitch as you slow down? Does it do it in neutral as you slow? Have you been greasing your prop shaft?

I remember we had an old Toyota RV that did that through the speakers. It would home and change as we shifted gears. I was a little kid at the time.

I’m about to go do that, I mean is there anyway to fix it? Without taking the sound system out.

You may have to check your ground on anything you installed. That is if pulling a fuse helps.

    Flux capacitor!
I was also curious if it was a back feed from the stereo. Usually the higher the RPMs the louder it gets.

Sounds like a whistling to me. There’s that little metal cage just after the MAF sensor that can crud up, especially if you’re running an oil-able air filter. Just wanted to throw in my $.02 that’s it doesn’t sound like speaker/amp issues, I’ve had those...

I would first pull the fuse for the stereo and amps and try and trouble shoot if it’s the stereo first as mentioned above.

I’m gonna try that probably tonight and if no luck with that I’m probably gonna take it back to the audio shop and have them check the ground wiring.
