Spent almost 9hrs last Saturday installing my Group-Buy Hertz door speakers in my 2007. I also installed rattle dampening and sound deadening on the inner and outer door skins, which took 90% of the time. Now if I smack the outside of the door with my fist it sounds like a brick wall. I haven't really tested the speakers much since I didn't have time to install the new Kenwood Headunit, 5-channel amp, 10" Sub, or the group-buy dash speakers. It is going to get spread out over many weeks I'm afraid. I also have a hardwired inverter to install and heated seats with Clazzio seat covers. I thought is was funny seeing the stock speakers. I don't know how they can handle any amplification above stock, the magnets are so small.

Back in biz!! Except for painting the woodwork and adding a few more lights, I'm ready to roll.

Paint seems to be a shade lighter than the truck but overall I'm pretty happy with the way the whole project turned out.

    2" Leveling Kit
Replaced both Upper Control Arms (UCA's) with the SPC Adjustable UCA's. A few months ago I started getting a creaking noise from the front end when I turned the wheel. It progressively got worse. I finally diagnosed the issue: both upper ball joints slowly going bad. My truck has a leveling kit which I assumed was causing an overly obtuse angle between the ball joint and the control arm. I thought about just replacing the ball joints, but that would not fix the angle issue.

After some research I found the adjustable arms from SPC. They came with greaseable ball joints with an angle correction for lifted trucks. They also give you 0 to +4 deg of additional caster adjustment and -2 to +2 deg of additional camber. I needed more camber adjustment to fix my overly positive camber anyways, so it was an easy purchase. I found a "used" set on Amazon warehouse for $430 shipped. The description said "very good" condition. I figured if they were used and beat up when they arrived I'd just return them. Luckily the reason they were listed as used was because the box was beat up. They were brand new. Nice!

The install was pretty straight forward. Took me about 3 hours to do both of them. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures after the install. I only have a before picture. Please forgive the dirt. Ohio isn't the friendliest state to our trucks this time of year. I threw in a factory picture of the arms if anyone is curious what they look like. Now I need to get it aligned. Thank you Sir!

Lol... My wife said last night that she's looking forward to an overnighter in the near future. Too bad we don't have a Drive In anymore :(

Excellente!! Projects like this are just plain fun so, DO IT!

I thought about drawers but I tend to overbuild stuff most of the time and could see having 200lbs worth of wood products back there. I tried REAL hard to keep the weight down this time and if the total of wood products comes in at 40lbs all-in I'd be surprised.

Got my SpiderTrax on yesterday in preparation for my new wheels/tires. RW wheels with 35" KO2 should be on the truck early next week, also a set of SuperBumps in the front. Clearned/lubed my UCAs with SuperLube and TriFlow as well

I just did the front for now, 1.25" to keep the bigger tires away from the UCAs. I also had to pull the front mud flaps due to rubbage. I'm really hoping I don't have to chop the body mount once I get the 35s on next week

Couple coats matte black and trimmed hole with some auto door edge trim. Finish should be good for another 10-12 years. We will see how long the trim lasts.20190308_144740.jpg

One of the smaller mods that made the biggest difference. Awesome

Nice, are those the 2.0? What kind of lift?

Yes 2.0's the lift is a 6" rough country but the front will eventually be coilovers not that I have ever had a problem with the spacer.
