Rear platform in the cab is done.

Tubular steel frame (1" OD, .09" thickness) and birch plywood floor (1/2"). The frame mounts to the OEM seat holes using the same hardware. The floor is easily removed for maintenance; it's also covered in liner coating and I run some rubber sheet over it for the dogs to have extra grip.

An added bonus of the floor being removable is that I can swap in a different plywood floor in the future with walls or even drawers.

The front section of the platform is hinged so that it can lay horizontally or stand vertically.

I think most people underestimate just how overtly huge the cab is in the Tundra on a CrewMax body. I can lay down pretty comfortably on the platform with a slight bend of the legs and I'm 5'9" -- diagonally, I should be able to straighten my legs.

On a daily basis, I'll probably leave the platform as is and empty but during extended camping trips we'll have the @dometic fridge strapped down (ie. using the OEM seatbelt mounts) and a ginormous comfy dog bed with blanket for both Clovis and Mavis to rest easy.

There's still plenty of room under the platform to fit gear as the vertical clearance ranges from 5 to 9 inches. I can still access the aftermarket floor storage units, too.

I have a Lab and a Brittany that ride with me when headed to our camp. Been kicking around building something for the rear floorboard area that would be flush with the existing rear box when the seats fold up. Something easy to move in and out. Was thinking of using 3/4" iron pipe... but I may use Sch 40 pvc. Only needs to support about 150#'s.

Great work. Been thinking of doing something similar but leaving single person seat. It definitely is roomie back there.

Yeah, we took out the 40-split seat a long time ago and kept the 60-split in for over a year because we had our fridge mounted in place of the 40. Now we went all out in the rear because it's really only used for our dogs and gear. I can count on one finger how many times we've had someone sit in the back in the last year.
