I had bought James’ single enclosure, but then decided I wanted two 10’s. So I used the dimensions of James’ box and looked at other boxes on the internet, and built my own. Gave the single box back to James since he’s been so good to the tundras.com community. Fitment is perfect, you just need to remove the jack accessory bag (not the actual jack) and hammer down the tab the bag clips to. The two vertical block strips on the side of each sub protects the sub. Very similar design to the box below.

Can’t remember which, but that’s either for the satellite radio antenna or GPS antenna. Pretty sure it’s the satellite radio antenna, especially if you bought the adapter to use your existing GPS antenna.

Do you have the factory 8” JBL sub, or the 10” sub from James’ group buy? The 10” sub is definitely louder than the 8” factory sub, but it still wasn’t loud enough for my tastes, even with the Phoenix HU. Unfortunately there is no independent control for the sub with the Phoenix HU, that’s why I went with a separate JBL amp with a level control knob.

So after driving my truck today and enjoying the new HU i park it and let sit for few hours before going to do some errands.Everything was fine .Now i start the truck and have no sound coming out of all speakers. All settings look good other than amp info audio settings not changeable (greyed out).
Checked amp fuse under the hood and its not burned out.Wtf everything was fine when i turned off last time .Any thoughts guys? Also screen seems darker even with dimmer all the way up.

Weird. Did you try putting a paperclip or something in the RST hole on the left hand side and resetting the HU? If that doesn’t work, try pulling the HU out and making sure all connections are secure. The pins in those harnesses unfortunately are fragile and can either bend or get disconnected easily. I plugged all of my harnesses in/together, and before I put the HU back in the dash, I wrapped all the harnesses that connect together in electrical tape. The one connection that really gave me a headache was the GPS antenna. I hope this helps and that’s all it is, either a software glitch that necessitates a reset, or a bad connection.

Make sure you post this in the FB page too.... there are normally quick responses on there. I second on checking all connections behind the HU. I had one that never wanted to "click" into place

Glad you got it fixed! Did you tape all of the wires together this time that way if one gets loose, the rest keep in plugged in?

Does anybody else experience audio crackling when putting their truck into reverse and activating the backup cam? I get a slight scratchy effect when doing this. Not sure if this is common or if I may need to check my connections as well.

No but I find it momentarily cuts out when I put it in reverse or every so often when I leave Wi-Fi on and not hotspotting.

I tried wireless mirroring for the first time yesterday and I could see texts and email notifications coming in, turn the phone sideways and its in landscape mode on the screen. Not as nice a view as native apps but works.

Hi Guys, First post. Ive been lurking for a bit and read a bunch of this and other threads related to the tesla style radio.

Have a few questions on it.

First. My truck did not come with heated seats, but i am planning on adding them. It looks like the trucks with the heated seats can control them through the touch screen. Does anyone know if i add headted seats if i can control them with the touch screen without having the dual climate control ? I am assuming the wiring for the heated seats runs into the back of the unit.

Second. Does the latest version with 7.1 fastboot support sirius or XM ?

I also am interested in if anyone has heard of or completed the heated seats mod. As far as I know and someone else can chime in if I'm wrong here, but to run satellite radio, you need another stand alone unit in addition to this.

Sorry for the late reply, I would not rely on the android HU to control your seat's heating/cooling in case the HU crashes. Ideally that should turn it all off, but you don't want it stuck on heat or cool. Or having to wait for a boot up to change your seat settings when you can use a physical button to do it right away, working HU or not.

And none of the units have native Sirius/XM. You can install the app and hotspot which uses data. To get satellite feed, you would need to dongle an XM device like the Commander Touch which has the controller/display.

It's a super easy install.... takes more time to pop the factory hu out than it does to install this.

It has its small quirks like current temp on limited and higher (2018 up) trims not displaying but overall im happy with it. Night and day compared to boring stock HU.

This is probably a stupid question but better safe than sorry....

This 12.1" unit will work in a 2019 Tundra TRD Pro right?
