I like the look of how low it is...but when I tried that with mine, I couldn’t access the bed.

If it can be installed using hardware that utilizes the factory rail system, you might have a new accessory that is usable. Looks good!

You can’t access a rail system through a bedcover.

No kidding, but on a bed with no bed cover, pretty sweet. Would use the crap out of that camping.

I like it, I just think it sits a little too high. Seems very functional and still allows use of the bed.

If it's stupid and it works, then it isn't stupid.

    Function over fashion.

Your whole truck looks great. Low, medium, or high isn't a good or bad thing: it's a matter of functionality based upon your needs and purposes.

If it's not functional for you, it's stupid, which is a real problem.
You're asking a preference question, so the only real response is this.

    Truck looks sweet though.

My undercover outlander has a rail system on the cover and if you remove it the inner frame underneath has a rail system as well, so I can carry gear with my bed open or covered..

I’m not that lucky. My Retrax doesn’t have that feature.

I have an idea for mine since I have the Ranch Hand grille guard, couple of 1x6's put together and have rod holders, maybe 5 or 6 screwed to boards with some type of inverted J hook on back and hand to grille guard

I thought about doing that too, as I needed more room over my tonneau cover for long travels. Things that can be exposed out side

    That sounds messy.
They make rod holders with built in tube clamps.

TRD Air Filters, Front door windows tinted to match the rears. Wheel locks, Talons Garage cat shield, Tyger Automotive soft tonneau cover, WeatherTech floor mats with Tuff Skinz Custom Emblem kit, Toyota OEM Emblem Black Out kit. AVS vent covers on all four doors, Red Tundra letters on front bumper & TRD highlighted in Red on front grille. Tailgate Tundra Letters in Black.
It’s not bad but maybe Line X it in the same exterior color of your truck?
