Has anyone installed the Toyota tow mirrors yet? Just bought a larger trailer and need mirrors I can actually see out of. Are they worth it? And are they easy to install. I also heard I rumor that they rattle at highway speeds. Anyone experiencing that? Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

I changed mine out. Very pleased with the choice to go with oe. They do not vibrate at all. They are simple to install, however you do need to remove the interior door panel.

87910-0C221 and 87940-0C221 are the most popular parts we sell for the Tundra. They fit from 2007 all the way up to the 2016 Tundra's without any problems. Both part numbers are hyper-linked to our website and we price match any Toyota parts website.

I installed them. They are fairly easy. The quality is excellent.
However, they are not as solid as the smaller mirrors at highway speed. They are not bad by any means but not as good as they could be. The mirrors on my dad's F250 excellent.

I installed the OEM tow mirrors on mine. Other than the passenger side not being convex, I like them. Oh and now when I goto the ATM I need to fold in my driver's side, not bad.

I'm seriously considering this as my next "mod" but its terrible because I just want them for aesthetics! lol

Nothing to feel guilty about. The largest trailer I towed so far is 5x10 utility trailer, after about 6 years of not towing anything, haha. I love my tow mirrors.

I would try to check some out at a dealership or something. I have the OEM towing mirrors and I'm not a fan of the reflection the passenger side gives. It's not convex, hard to get used to.

Most towing mirrors are not convex because they have a large convex mirror included. Some love convex mirrors and some hate them. There are very few who are indifferent.
In Europe they have convex mirrors on both sides.

Old thread, but thought I'd take a shot. In reference to purchasing OEM tow mirrors for my 2016 Toyota Tundra SR5 crew max, what's the differences in wiring in the "gas" model vs the "FFV" (flex fuel) models? I ask because for the 2016, the Toyota websites "confirm" the mirrors will fit the gas models, but not the FFV ones.

Had them for 6 years on my 2nd gen. Ordered a set the minute I decided to start shipping for a 3rd gen. Had them waiting in the garage for when I brought her home.

Thank you for the quick reply. Being my first Toyota, I'm guessing my model is a third generation and the mirrors will work anyway?

For anyone else considering tow mirrors I highly recommend the GM style tow mirrors - https://www.ebay.ca/itm/For-2007-20...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649. I had the OEM ones before and those aren't close in providing what the GM style ones give for visibility. The fit is just like OEM and there's very little wind noise at 80 mph. And you can get them with power fold, BSM, heated, and integrated back facing light.

Are those plug and play? Or is there a ton of splicing to do?

Only wires I had to splice was for the rear facing cargo light, something I did not have in the OEM mirrors. Turn signal, heated surface, and mirror aiming were all plug and play just like the OEM ones. Hardest part was feeding the wire from the passenger side to the driver side under the carpet in the back seat area of the cab. If I had a proper wire fishing tool it would have been easy, but I ended up using an umbrella lol

Weird...I clicked the ebay link and it shows these work with blind spot monitoring in the pictures, but then says not compatible in the notes.
@belanger9 Did you have any issues with yours? These are only going for $188/pair? wow.

I can say these mirrors are much better for visibility compared to OEM tow mirrors. I wired up the spotlight on the mirrors to the bed light switch.

I do not have BSM on my truck so cannot say how effective they are. I can see the icon in the mirrors, but the mirrors I bought and linked do not have BSM wired up. There are ones that do have BSM wired in, I found some when I searched for these and they may be in the related products section at the bottom of the page.

It faces straight back alongside your truck. I'd prefer it if it was facing down to the ground more, but it does light the side of the truck up very well, great when way out in the boonies where there's no street lights and you're parked near objects.
