It's just not as certain as once thought. Not saying that future oil will be easy to get to, but technological inroads and new discoveries happen all the time. There is evidence that petroleum is a constantly renewing resource, a product of geothermal/chemical reactions that occur deep in the earth that are, like magma, constantly working their way into the earth's mantle. It's not a finished science, by any means, most likely much is still theoretical. One thing is known for sure now though, petroleum is NOT the by-product of old rotted dinosaur and prehistoric plant matter. It's not dino-oil.

    There’s no heart and soul.

It takes gasoline and a combustion engine to create the type of dopamine and serotonin levels needed to fulfill my needs.

It’s like receiving head from an ugly chick.
She may get the job done, possibly even faster. But the experience, just isn’t the same as if she was Megan Fox.

    Here you go....

Tesla rates below FIAT in reliability? Anyone ever own a FIAT? Here is some more of the report...

Somehow, TrueDelta’s definition of average doesn’t seem to stack up against Consumer Reports’. Consumer Reports, in the same top 10 list, rates the 2015 Audi A6 as “average” (3/5); the same score they gave the Model S. If you look at the TrueDelta report, it’s clear the A6 and Model S aren’t in the same rating for reliability. Unbelievably, Consumer Reports, in the 2015 list, also states the 2015 Chevy/GMC Silverado/Sierra and Dodge Ram 1500 were omitted because they “weren’t reliable enough.” These trucks both score much higher than the Model S in their TrueDelta ratings. Nothing suggesting a double standard there. What’s more, Consumer Reports itself admits that “Tesla has chronic reliability issues…,” reporting a half dozen issues in their less-than-a-year-old Model S before it even hit 16,000 miles (25,750 km).

I don’t think you have driven a p100d because if that doesn’t give you a hard on for electric propulsion nothing will.

    No. The p85D.

But have you driven a R8 V10 Spyder? Because the Lamborghini V10 directly behind your head, will make any Tesla experience you have, be forgotten forever.

And that’s just because of the sound.
I have no clue why Audi even puts a fucking stereo in the things.

The sound, is such an art, it’s not worth discussing unless you’ve driven one.

Agree to disagree. I was a valet in college, I have run an auto auction for a little over a decade and have been into racing since I was a teenager. I have driven all manner of cars from lambos to Ferrari’s to Maserati's and Bentley’s and they don’t feel special to me. In fact I found the ford GT to be superior to the afformentioned in build quality and driving dynamics.

As far as v10s are concerned, I think they sound like crap. The high strung tune of a Ferrari v8 or v12 or a nice burble of the Mercedes v12 or the lumpy idle of an American V8 really do it for me on the audio scale.

My idea of a real visceral driving experience lies on two wheels with the shriek of a high strung Yamaha 1 liter or the delicious sound of a Ducati Vtwin at full tilt on a race track. You haven’t lived until you have had a bike at full tilt on a track. Compared to that I always found cars in general to be rather docile. My buddy has a twin turbo viper that is about as close to a bike as I had come in a car for straight visceral appeal but it doesn’t put a smile on my face the way instant on torque at any speed in a completely silent cabin with two kids smiling in the back seat does.

So of all the mentioned cars the Tesla makes you smile the most? lol

Definitely agree to disagree LOL. Bikes to cars is apples to oranges. And silent cabin, isn’t my bag of chips. In my Lexus with a client, sure, silence makes sense.
I love speed, and have been on bikes. As well as many other machines. I haven’t tracked street bikes (have motocross) but I understand adrenaline. I’d much prefer 150MPH from the start of an on-ramp, to the freeway entrance in an R8 screaming in my ears vs a YFZR1.
My kids will eventually appreciate that as well with the assumption I wouldn’t put said vehicle into a wall as easily as a bike.

Maybe I’m just getting old. :D

A buddy just sold one! It was a huge hunk of junk, so good call! LOL!
He ended up in an X5M and is very happy.
It hauls serious balls for a 3 row SUV.

    Lmfao!!!!
Ahhh, you have an SQ5, so you have your quick SUV fix. After seeing them run in 11 second 1/4’s after a tune, I wanted one for the wife :D
Renters suck! Watch out for the new WA state “rental cap” they’ll probably kill us with after shit-hole Portland starts it.
We just did our taxes today, and tax lady said I need to raise my rental rates. Think I’ll implement an increase, before it’s illegal! (WTF!?)

With a Tesla, seems very minimal middle ground. One is either all in or out.

The thing about Tesla is it is one of the first feasible electric vehicles. It actually performs like a gas car. Everything else was kind of a novelty golf cart until this. The other electric vehicles are a result of the threat that Elon made with his product. We need competition. Ford's F150 eco turd is what will force Toyota to overhaul the tundra and try for better mileage. Ram's interior will force them to update the inside. What I like about Toyota is they usually let other mfg's try and fail before they commit. The next tundra will probably be a supercharged something. As I have said before, I always jump last. Usually after the platform has run for 8-10 years and has the bugs worked out. The magic of our tundras and my 2015 2nd gen taco is that guys have been driving and fixing them for over a decade. They have the answers and we usually know right where to start and how to find the problem. Tesla may not be the answer, but it has created enough problems to get the other mfg's off their ass and looking for answers and products that compete. If Elon did't have his $$$$ he would have been crushed by the competition so they didn't have to compete.

Thats what I don't like. Wife's 2016 Prius avgs 48 MPG and can make 60 mpg and cost less 30k for the 4 touring model. Reliability is low and price is high on Tesla's and recharge is a big factor, what if you had to use elec car in emergency 500 miles away and back roads. Hybrid no issues.

Petroleum is definitely not a renewable source of eenerg. I suggest what ever research you saw try and find out who bank rolled it.

I wouldn’t say it’s total garbage. They do have fewer parts but they have ALOT of expensive electronics that can go south. Also, how spread out are the repair facilities? And another issue to electric technology is battery disposal. Where are all these batteries going to go with this tech including wind/solar?
I’ll paste one example but I’m sure there are plenty more. I’m definitely not against this technology but being in the utility world most of my adult life has given me an understanding that all tech poses it’s own issues.

My father has ad one almost 6months I would say now and he loves it. BUT it wasn't near 35k because well he added stuff. Thats where they get you. I think it was more close to 50K. The thing in boring and a blast to drive. Its boring because its silent and you just press the gas its a blast because you literally will destroy ZO6s GT3 and other higher end cars all day. The thing is stupid fast. Destroyed my 580whp STi baddddd. I ran my dads friend 2017 ZO6 and it seemed as tho he hit the brakes it was so bad.

Well, I'd suggest that someone who quotes John Lennon and doesn't know what to believe might try a little research himself. Sorry, never heard of "eenerg".

Correcting grammatical mistakes is somewhat juvenile, let's not go there. If you show me the research you were referring to, I will be more than willing to look at it.

Go to Google (which I never use), or any other search engine you choose, and type in something like "oil a renewable resource?" You'll find all sorts of references and articles, on both sides of the fence, some with agenda, some without. Then you can decide for yourself if this is a "finished" scientific debate. Unlike some, I don't think scientific research and debate is EVER finished. Too many new discoveries are made virtually every day. But the idea that crude oil is a constantly renewing hydrocarbon resource has been around since at least the 1930s, and the evidence points more in that direction every day. Of course it gets more and more difficult to extract it, as we have gotten the "low fruit" off the tree already. But as technology and extraction methods advance, I think it's doubtful that we'll ever run out of it.
