What's the going rate for a super charger thsee days? Up here in Canada you never see them for sale so it's hard to judge a fair price. The one I've managed to find has
40k km on it. It's advertised as a complete kit with ''intake, belts and bolts'' in the pics it look a little dirty but appeard to be all there.

I don't see them for sale too often, and I don't remember the prices, but everytime I see a used one for sale I shy away. I feel the same way with used engines. I'm not a tech so I can't break either down to confirm they weren't beat to hell and the important parts are in spec. I think it would be a headache to install if all the pieces aren't there. I guess I don't trust people much...

Magnuson is still making/selling the SC, that would be my pick if I couldn't find a new TRD. Not to worry though, I don't have the money for either.

yep bank account is running low from it..
It's not a simple bolt on unit. The ecm has to be reflash before the s/c can be put on unless you do the unichip route and that's for flexfuel engines.

if my memory is correct they are changing out fuel pumps when you add the s/c. If you don't have the fuel pump with the s/c and only stock one you will not be getting the right fuel pressure running lean.

I have heard some dealers will not reflash the ecm unless you buy it from them.

Ya.... other then the money the reflash will be my biggest obstacle... I've read up on the install process and it does look like quite the job. I wonder if I could get a dealer to install this used one.

This is how I would look at it:

    New SC costs xxx?
    Used SC cost xxx?
Cost to rebuild used SC is?

I would personally go into this thinking it needs a rebuild. Hell, since the SC is off the motor, that is exactly what I would do first.

I'd LOVE to buy new but even with our discount at toytec it'd be $7200 USD= $100,000 CND lol ... I'm looking at $3000 CND shipped to my door for this used one

Buy it, ship it to Magnuson, freshen it up and then install it.

You will have a new SC without the worry.

You would have to call the manufacture on that one, but if it is just a bearing kit, not bad at all. A complete rebuild is around 750-850.00 USD.

One thing here guys you are missing he is in canada.. Dealers up there might not have access to do region supercharger reflash. I would call the dealer to confirm it can be done.

Mike has a point, and assuming that the OP has done his own local legwork and they will/will not flash the ECM.

Getting the ECM flashed for the SC is only a problem "in Canada" if your tundra is 2015. My dealer f$&ked up large! I asked them specifically if the flash for my truck would be a problem. They apparently didn't even look into it at all and went ahead with the install. After about a week of not so pleasant emails back and forth, Someone got creative and somehow got their hands on the flash.
