So took my truck into a local repair shop he told me it was dead and had to boost it... after I picked the truck up from the repairs (replaced center bearing and u joint) I have the 4hi 4lo abs lights on as well as check eng and no speedo the truck will not go into 4wd either it's a 2009 tundra Ltd any suggestion on what my problem is
also when the tech tried to plug in to read abs code it would not let him in to read it

No tundra specific experience with this but with other vehicles in the past I've had this happen to me with a dying alternator. Same symptoms. Alternators will often fail in a way that voltage runs too high ('leaking' AC current into the system) and this will crash multiple systems that need a specific voltage to function. This would also fit with your truck needing to be jump started. Although the alternator is making excessive voltage the actual amps will usually be too low and you can get a dead battery.

You can try unplugging your alternator, if it is the alternator you should only get a battery light on your dash but everything else should go away.

Yeah. But it is plausible. Its not really good to charge a completely dead battery from the alternator as they aren't really designed for that kind of stress so its plausible that trying to charge a dead battery could have been the final straw for that one. Other things of course that could happen, but the alternator is where I would start looking for trouble when you get multi-system failures like that.

Welcome from down south (So Cal).
My experience with those exactly symptoms were part of the secondary air injection system failing. After getting those same lights, I pulled the neg. battery cable to reset the codes, which made the symtpoms worse. Wouldn't shift properly, wouldn't idle, wouldn't go above 40mph. 'Limp mode'
There are 2 valves and 2 pumps, one of the valves had pretty much fallen apart. Unrepairable. Being a 2010, I tried doing the repairs myself with no luck. Replaced the valve and pump, still same issues. Finally took it to the dealer, $2950 to replace the entire system with a 1 year warranty. They also had to reprogram the idle.

I hope this isn't your issue. And if it is, you're under warranty

Possibly a wheel speed sensor? While ripping my hair out researching my issue, that came up more than once

My friend just had that issue. I'll ask him about the symptoms. He told me he bought a delete kit as the price to fix it was more than he paid for the truck in the first place.

I was on the fence about the delete kit, mainly because it's emissions related. Some feedback from him would be great, $3000 versus $300 price difference. He still has enough to buy some coilovers, ahaha
They had a recall for the injection system too, up to 150k or 10 years...I think. I'm was at 154k at the time of repair :frusty:

I will get more info from him. I saw him driving the truck today so I assume it worked ;)

There is no emission testing in my state so that aspect is a non issue.
