I am going to be buying some 33”x12.5”R20 in a couple of months and I was wondering on y’alls opinion on which tire is better.

Have you searched, Matt? Use the little magnifying glass up near the top of your screen on the right. Under Alerts. There's been a lot of comparisons. You'll probably find more answers already posted than you'll get on a new thread.

Welcome from SoCal! Post a pic of your truck, now and again after you get new shoes.

No trouble. Let me know if you need a hand searching. It's like drinking from a water hose once you figure it out!

I was torn between the two and chose the RG. I have about 15k on them now and they're looking good 275/70/18 at 38psi. Have to be a little gentle on wet takeoffs but I read the same about the RT. Go to each manufacturer's website and read as many reviews as you can.

Clarification. I have Terra Grapplers that came on the truck new from the dealer. They're made in Japan (I just looked again). Perhaps Ridges aren't????

    Alot of them
I have the RGs but they are both good tires. One is the parent company to the other..I just don't remember which one is which. Look at the weight of the tires in the specs. I run 285/70/18's and they are 59 pounds per tire.

Toyo is the parent to Nitto. I have RG’s and loving them and supposedly a little quieter on the road. Both good tires. Can’t really go wrong.

I had RG's on my truck and they lasted for about 23,000 miles. I needed an alignment and the outsides wore down. I currently own the Toyo Open Country R/T's and only have run them for about 2,000 miles. They seem to comparable to each other. The RG's don't have a tread warranty but the Toyo's have a 45,000 mile coverage. As far as sound, they are both quiet. The Toyo's, in my opinion, run smoother. The RG's aren't as good in the rain. Do your homework.

I own two tundras, I have the Toyo RT's on one and the Nitto RG's on the other and Bener's assessment is spot on. The RT's definitely do better in the rain. The reality is they are the exact same tire underneath with a different tread pattern. You can't go wrong with either but personally I am liking the RT's better right now.

For what it is worth, I found the RT to be a bit louder on the freeway than I would like. I don't offroad every weekend so I think on my next tire I will step down to something that sings less on the freeway. I am installing sound dampening material soon perhaps that will remove my compliant.

I don't have enough miles on the RT's to give an honest assessment. I have about 15K on the RG's and it looks like they will be about a 30k tire.

That’s how it is for everyone I know it’s either the Toyo RT only lasts for 30k or it’s gonna last 50k+ and same goes for the RGs, I guess it’s the luck of the draw:fingerscrossed:
