Ok one last question how many quarts of oil? Going for it tomorrow have not had a day off this year and for the 4 months of last year except for XMAS and new year so I have not looked it up, and don't really feel like it

 

I could probably look at the cap for the weight, work too much losing my mind

 

0W20 (zero dubyu twenty).

 

Mine always takes 8.5 quart's.

Ok did the install today. Just a little back ground used to do all my maintenance on my own until I moved to Oregon and moved out to the sticks hard a gravel driveway which made getting under vehicles a real pain. Now I live back in town with cement drive way, so back at it and my warranty is up. So Fumoto valve, I would say worth it especially if you have something like the RCI Skid plate. When you drain the oil pan with a skid like that towards the end the oil will go on top of the plate plus just letting drain down in tub is a mess also. Also changed out the plastic oil filter cap and went with the aluminum from Amazon. The set up money was not super expensive but I bought 4 ton jack a set of jack stands the valves oil filter cap, the wrench that's needed for taking it off and rags. The only down side is that I thought that I would save more money, still the satisfaction of doing it yourself is worth the price. Also reset my maintenance miles on the dash. Also replaced my air filter inside the cab it was really dirty had leaves and all kinds of crap in there miles 29944 any that is my initial impression. Will repost at 40,000.

 

Also bought the nipple and lock for the valve.

 

You can also get the Rhino brand plastic-injected-molded ramps. 40 bucks at Wally World for a set of two ramps. Good for 12,000 pounds and stupid easy. I then put jack stands under the frame for safety. And the ramps on just the front angle the oil pan to the back right-to-the-drain-plug!!!

 

If anyone is looking for an Toyota OEM Metal Oil Filter housing, here is one on eBay ($19.50). Just bought one myself and there are 7 left.

I guess $10 isn't too much for a funnel.

I saw this hack a while back on here somewhere. Washer Fluid bottle hack, screws right in. Worked great and practically free!

 

I’ve been using an old Prestone radiator funnel for years. It works pretty good because it has a wide mouth. But I think I like this better!

 

I would get the one with the plug, make sure every thing works right

 

My plug from plastic housing transrerred right over, no issues.

 

I ended up canceling my order and ordered the one with the plug.

Same here put it on because of RCI Skids. works ok so far. No leaks, drips...etc.

I think he used to play 3rd base for the Cubs.

 

I know its just a filter wrench, but this tool just exudes quality. Forged perfectly and has a great weight to it. Feels like it should last a lifetime, but only time will tell.

 

The Jowett works beautifully with the RCI skid plate. Plenty of room!

Wish I didn't wait on that Jowett filter cap. They're out & seems he's not doing any more. I emailed Brian last month and haven't heard back. Anyone know what the deal is - if he's going to have them again?

Yeah I have one of those - works great! Jowett would’ve been cool, but don’t need it.
