Rebuilt engine, painted it bright green and hand-polished the valve cover. Lots of stickers.
Sup guys, I'm Fenwick, running the same username on Tacoma World. I drive a 96 2wd Xtracab Tacoma with the 2.4L, but one day I would like to have a Tundra, though that may be a good while away. But in the meantime, I can read up on them, and what better place to do that than here? :)
For those of you that don't know me, I'm holed up in Chesapeake, VA, and I bought my Tacoma for $250 off of Craigslist a year and a half ago. Guy advertised it as having a blown head gasket, but when I yanked the engine, I found that the freeze plug behind the timing chain had fallen out, giving the oil that carmel-colored, goopy oil. So I pushed that plug back in and decided to rebuild the engine from the ground up.

The Tacoma? Including the rebuild, fuel pump, tires, windshield, corner light, and all of that, just a little over 2k. Still gotta replace my upstream o2 sensor (CEL's been on since I hit 1k miles, and I just his 6k yesterday, so...) and fix a coolant leak that sprung up. (thought I fixed it already- looked like the thermostat housing) Power steering pump is going too. But considering that the only things that are wrong with the trucks are things I didn't touch when I rebuilt it, I'm very happy with it. Tis my baby truck!

Thanks! Hopefully one day I'll be posting pictures up here of my own Tundra, whenever I can afford to get one. :D
