Just for perspective - you can keep it fairly low and fit large tires also. My wife’s truck on 2” lift with 37” tires.

She has fiberglass fenders here so the front looks lifted more than it actually is.

If you’re going to get 35” or larger tires, you’ll want to change the gears in the rear axle. Making the tire larger makes it more difficult for the engine to turn it - new gears with a higher ratio makes it easier for the engine to turn big tires.

Since you’re 2wd and probably want to hit the occasional dirt, I’d suggest installing an air locker or LSD in the rear axle at the same time that you change the gears. There’s a big savings on labor if you do them at the same time. The locker or LSD will help both rear tires push the truck instead of just one at a time with the open dif - helping to avoid getting stuck.

Read this forum a lot before you make any rash decisions or spend much money. Go have fun with it and see what the limitations are.

The kit isn’t bad, but the link that OP posted is an incomplete kit in my opinion.

2wd is simple. Spindles, body mount chop, OP could put 35s and enjoy it

I think 4:10 is the lowest offering. Unless there’s a new combination since 2014 or so.
Does the 4.0 offer a tow version? That would be odd, but it would also mean he has 4.30 gears already.

OP, do you have a tow hitch and a “Tow/Haul” button on the dash? Column or floor shifter?

    So true.

I had a 2010 4.6 truck before. It had 4.10 gears with tow package. Used a land cruiser rear end. 4.30 not offered stock for the smaller engines. Im not 100 percent sure what v6 trucks had

Wow ok, just woke up to all this this! Haha thanks for all the help! So to answer some questions:
    1. I do have a hitch on the back of the truck, I do plan on hauling a trailer every now and then, nothing heavy, probably household stuff, dirt, furniture. Simple stuff. I do not have a the “tow/haul” feature.
    2. Technically my pops “handed” me the truck. I was in the market, he was looking for an upgrade, and he was nice enough to give me a present. so money isn’t really an option ;) granted i don’t want to break bank. Looking to stay in the 2-4k range. But that’s including wheels/tires, lift/spindles, fog lights, headlights, front grill. The picture is older but I’ve already got a bull bar with a little 16” light bar on it.

So what I’m making out of these comments is i can probably get away with just getting a spindle kit lifting it 3-4 inches and then just put 35’s. With a possible re-gear(i gotta do some research to see which gearing option i have)

Sounds simple enough, cost effective, something i might be able to do on my own.. does anyone have any insight on wheel size or widTh or is that just preference? 20” vs 19? 9” width vs 10?

Any fog light kits anyone recommends? Prefer to stay away from stock and go LED

You could run 1.25 wheel spacers up front and use the stock rims for now to save cash if need be

    I would guess 6 inch lift 35x12.5
