Meguiars isn't probably good to go. Great on leather too.
I usually soak a sponge in Armorall and apply it..which works well.

Used all three of these since i started driving. I think the one i settled on was the Black Magic but they all work about the same.

Anything water based is the best at not turning brown as fast between applications I've found. Mother's makes a good one can't remember the name though. Armor All is second if you can't find mothers.

Purple power mixed with water, it doesn't turn brown once it wears off either.

@benrichardson87 is that to clean it only or does it put a shine on it as well. Looking for a good tire cleaner but if it shines as well may be going in my derail cabinet for sure.

It dos clean it really well, it doesn't give it a shine like a tire shine will but it's looks like a new tire again if that makes since? Not shinney but not dirty looking either. I hated tire tire marks down the side of my truck when went then the tire turning brown once it wore off I why I started using purple power.

I also have a Mcguires product, can't remember the name off hand but it isn't the one mentioned here. It seems to work well so far. Not too much tire sling either, I just let it sit for awhile before driving. Seems to last a reasonable amount of time too. I am looking into Griotsgarage detail products for my truck and wife's car. Sound like good products and they cover everything involving detailing. I will post an update once I get some.

Anything oil based will collect dirt like a magnet if you take it wheeling...speaking from experience.
And if you use the spray foam kind of tire shine give it a few hours before you drive to prevent product "sling" onto your paint.

I can't recommend Meguiars tire GEL enough. Sprays look good for a week but the gel lasts months. I live in the desert and once it dries, dust doest stick to it. Once you go gel, you'll never want to use spray again.

I always used simple green as a cleaner and used different kinds of tire shine. I'm now on simple green and 303. Might try a shine later on but I like the matte finish the 303 gives me

It got some gel and it's a pain in the ass to put on. I believe it was black magic, I'll have to go look. Especially with these tires, you have to sit there and almost scrub the tires to get it into all the grooves. It looks good once it's on, but mine only lasted a week. I did drive on a bunch of gravel roads and got into a little mud last weekend which probably didn't help. I just reapplied it yesterday, we'll see how long it lasts this time.

I've been using Simple green to clean my tires also. I don't know if its because I dilute it around 40% or not , but it doesn't get the brown film/gunk off. I used to use Bleche White, but stopped a while ago because it didn't seem to be working like it used to. Apparently Black Magic bought it and they must have changed it.

I love it. I apply it with a foam applicator, and once it dries the tires look perfect.

Meguiar's or any other gel should be applied with a foam applicator or a crappy old clean paintbrush. The kind that say "good" (not "better" or "best") at WallyWorld are perfect. Slop it on liberally and then use a micro fiber cloth to mop up the excess. It smells like grapes and gets your tires dark black without being shiny, which is what I like.

I prefer Meguiar's but I will also sometimes just quickly use a spray foam. I prefer the ones with the "precision" nozzle.

I'm putting it on with the foam applicator that came with it. Maybe I'm just not putting enough on the applicator as I'm having to scrub the tires with it to get it into all the groves on the tire and into the letters and stuff.
