    I suggest black gun bluing liquid. Takes most metals and tints them black. Wont come off and inexpensive

    Well hell ma’am. I didn’t know. Sorry. Insert foot in mouth.

    I see what you found. I was looking at the bolts and washers in 100pks. I’d have to buy 3 of those kits and would have a ton left over afterward. I already have all the nylock nuts and stainless washers for the backside. Hopefully he will get back to me tomorrow. The more I look at this the more it’s pissing me off. Going to get the grille re-powder coated at the same time so I only have to do it once.

    It’s all the 50 dollars here 50 dollars there that get me. I didn’t account for 100 bucks of bolts when I justified this to myself.

    I’d think about doing it yourself. It isn’t hard at all.
    I paint industrial generators for a living and things will get chipped no matter what.
    Get some degreaser, drop the bolts in there. Get a toothbrush and get all the nooks and crannies, rinse, then let dry and then scuff each one with some 120 sandpaper or even some wool pads, wipe down with some alcohol to get dust particles off. Stick ends in cardboard and run over with primer and then color of your choice. Paint or epoxy paint, dealers choice.

    Id do one coat primer, two paint

    Hi Ryan, Black Oxide is a very durable finish for SS parts and is similar to a anodized finish for aluminum. A single stage black oxide will not add additional thickness to the part nor will it scratch or peel over time. We use them for all kinds of automotive applications.

    Ok I ordered all the black oxide stainless bolts and washers from McMaster Carr. Was less than 40 bucks shipped. Took forever to get the bolts swapped but it’s done! Makes me want to get that ADD bumper powder coated gloss black as the wrinkle finish doesn’t match but with as much stuff as I run into that’s probably a bad idea. Easy to touch up the textured stuff.
