    Hey Guys,
I want to replace my headlights on my 07 they are glazing over, and not a fan of going the buffing route or doing any upgrades such as led, hid, etc I just want to replace with oem.

From reading through the site its my understanding that from 07-13 2nd gen it plug n play, but what about 3rd gen are they total different?

I have a seen some good deals on 3rd gen OEM's on FB & CL from guys who did upgrade their lights

    Thanks
    Rich

3rd gen headlights do not fit on 2nd gens unless you do a whole front clip conversion. Toyota branded 2nd gen headlights are outrageous I've seen them for over 200 each. Just get some aftermarket stock replacement from Ebay

I had the same problem and went the aftermarket route and regretted it. I can't get the after market ones to adjust at all. If I had known about Rockauto I might have had better luck.

Try Toyota of Coolsprings, @Roman is always helpful on the forum. I ordered a new set from them, about the cost of the mid-range aftermarket sets I found, but from all the reviews I have seen on the aftermarket ones, it is hit or miss on quality.

My truck came with some Chinese ones that don't look too bad, except there's a plastic film that's peeling off of them. Bought a set of black Depo ones to put in, they seem really well made.

I saw the Depo ones but never found any helpful reviews.

I recently got a set of OEM 2013 headlights with working leveling motors from Craigslist, for $40, bulbs included.
I searched a ton, ended up searching by year within Craigslist (ie: 2013 Tundra Headlight, 2012 Tundra Headlight, etc.) which helped a lot. Just be aware of the auto leveling, if that's what you're looking for

You might need to wet sand that film off. I bought a set of used pro headlights that had the typical hazing to them. Started with 2000 wet sandpaper. Keeping the lens clean and wet while you’re doing it you should be able to tell if it’s being affective. If it’s not taking the scratches out, step to a heavier grit. I ended up going down to 1000 grit and then 1500, then 2000. Then using smoother and smoother polishes until I got it just about perfect. Last step I used a Powerball on my drill with very fine Maguires polish, then wax.

I wanted to do this, but they are still a bit out of my price range. Maybe when they come closer to $600-800 range. New 07 lights are ~$400 with shipping.

There's no haze or scratches. An actual layer is peeling off.

Sand that shit off LOL. I had a layer on my Chevy that did the same thing. I was work but it save me from buying new headlights. I actually ended up stepping down to like 400 grit on those. I was nervous but they turned out nice.
