I miss my SLR, and 35mm film. I got more enjoyment out of having to wait for pictures than seeing them instantly. I remember when you did special effects with f stops, shutter speed and film speed...... I'm old

    Btw, some very beautiful pictures!

miss? why? keep shooting film! my favorite camera of all time is my hasselblad 500. over 40 years old, totally mechanical and sharp as a tack. it creates better images than my 1DC. after the hassy, i still shoot my canon F1 and mamiya 645. i'm in the process of rebuilding my darkroom in the basement. nothing better than processing your own film and making your own prints. get to clicking!

if you need a lab to process, these are my current gotos...

    richard photo lab
    indie film lab
    dr5

richard and dr5 i've used for 15 years or so. the guys at dr5 do total magic with b&w and i first start using them to get b&w slides out of negatives. it was the one thing i had that set me apart from the masses turning in slides at surfer/surfing.

The shutter in my Konica died. I bet I ran thousands of rolls through it. I have thought of replacing it but other things take priority like heat and cable and lights and interweb and taxes and insurance and food and beer!:p

Yeah, it's really well defined. I've seen them before, but never this sharply outlined.

Would be where a hawk landed. With the wings spread like that it most likely picked up a meal.

    Or possibly an owl.

Bingo. Most likely a hawk around here, especially as this happened during the day today. The hawks somehow see/sense rodents in, on or under the snow then drop like a stone to grab it and land with their wings spread to cushion the impact. Same thing an osprey does when it sees a fish.

I've seen ospreys hit the water. It's quite a sight. I've never actually seen a hawk hit the snow, just the aftermath.

    Thanks, makes sense now.

Sure you can! YouTube is your friend, lots of tutorials, and try to stay away from Auto, that's what I've always read, lol. Just keep shooting whenever you get the chance to and you'll see the progression.
