Thanks so much! I guess I'll try another Costco. Both my local Sam's club and Costco will not do the install. Sucks because I love the price and customer service at both facilities for tires.

Had all the popular brands, the ko2's look good but the falkens at3 are the best tires I've ever had.

Got em, love em. Super solid off-road. No worries about getting a flat out in the back country.

Finally got my my new Tundra off the pavement in the Mojave desert just south of Red Rock Canyon this weekend. Now I am really wanting to replace the stock Michelin tires as soon as the purse recharges a bit from the Snugtop I am picking up later today. They just shimmy around in the sand. Would be nice to have something mud and slow rated as well as OK on pavement as a daily driver. When you are driving on sand and then snow on frozen mud, that isn't the time to be cursing your tires. I am willing to give up some road comfort and noise for something M/S rated.
We had an el-nino winter back in the 90s, I was going north on the 395 the last week of December, looking to get to Carson City and decided to go past Mammoth. It was snowing up there, so the CHP was forcing everyone over as they left Bishop. I was in my '94 4x Toyota and the tires were either BFG A/Ts or the stock Goodyear A/Ts (don't remember). All the 2x 'SUV's' needed chains. I had chains but didn't want to put them on. The CHP officer looked at my tires, then looked in the cab to confirm it was a 4x4, looked at the tire rating again and just said 'go slow, be careful, don't pass'. No chains, yippee. And no problems.
The Cooper ST MAXX look like a tire that might just give me what I am looking for.

Just got rid of my K02's after 25,000 miles. Balance issues and the wet weather traction was getting progressively worse. IMO the current BFG's aren't what they used to be.

Replaced them with Cooper st maxx and wouldn't go back to BFG.

BFG KO and KO2 have always been good tires and very popular in the off-road world - Made it's name with the Baja races. I have had the first ones probably 30 years ago and several since. They do tend to get a little noisy when wearing down. I have been considering them for my next set, mostly because of sentimental reasons (I have had them on all my favorite trucks over the years, and the Tundra is now in that group). however, I have a few coworkers who are die-hard Cooper fans and the ST Maxx and Discoverer AT3 are on my research list. I have had Coopers before and have always been very happy with them. The AT3 comes in 3 different styles (4S, LT and XLT) - basically all the same tread pattern, but different sidewalls - from smooth to more rugged looking side treads. 4S has more snow siping. I will probably go with the XLT due to the sidewall pattern.
Apparently gives good grip on wet roads, durable on rocky terrain while being quiet on the road. 60,000 mile tire.
