I just bought my first tundra. I still have my dad's 2000 Tacoma love that truck but the people that had it had stickers on the tail gate. So the dealership I bought it from tried to get the stickers off but they told me its baked into the paint? I really do t want to use a rubbing compound any suggestion?

Try any type eraser wheel. I used a 3M eraser wheel to remove my pinstripes. It won't damage your clear coat or paint. Clean it up with acetone or your wifes fingernail polish. This wheel will fit on any cordless drill. Make sure you have your batteries fully charged. It will burn a battery down quick. Here's a link to give you an idea.

Works every time. Just be sure to use a low rpm. Example if your using your drill, use the low gear (if it has gears). This will keep the wheel cooler. You can take breaks to let the wheel cool off often as well. Once the wheel
Heats up too much it just smears and starts melting the clear coat.

My buddy owns a body shop. Definitely what everyone else said. That 3m eraser wheel is awesome.

I'll show pictures. The stickers are off but it left a shadow of it on the paint. The detailer said he tried to remove it with alot of wax and buffer but he said it would have to be repainted the whole tailgate. When it gets daytime I'll upload pictures. I love the truck always wanted a tundra. Also love my 2000 Tacoma. But I needed somthing bigger to pull my camper. I really thank you guys for all advice.

I used a DA polisher on mine with cutting compound, and it removed the shadow. My vehicle was newer...that is probably the difference, since your vehicle is a 2000. The detailer should know that wax is for shine ....not correcting paint.
