Anyone have the cold weather package. Do you have a visible grid?

Cold weather package? I dont know about that, but I just replaced the windshield. I do have the windshield wiper de-icing/heater element in the bottom of my windshield. Its connected up under the cowling.

Never knew I had it until the SafeLite guy showed up to replace my windshield. Told me he had to go back and get the correct windshield.
Nope, can't see it unless you remove the cowling.

I think the cold weather package also has higher output alternator.

My 07 factory build out stated cold weather package included high output starter and heavy duty battery along with windshield wiper deicer and side mirror heaters.

Is there a specific button for the wiper deicer? I have the heated mirrors, wasn't sure if I have wiper deicer.

I think it comes on with that or when the defroster is on. I'm not sure though.

I found in the book that it is the mirror button. Now just to figure out if I have the wiper heater. In the book it caveats using the mirror heaters to turn on the wiper heater (if equipped). It did state the bottom of the windshield may get too hot to touch, so don't touch it. So, sounds like I can turn it on and touch the windshield to verify it's present (like telling a kid to not touch the hot stove :D).

    Cheers!

Now I’m curious. Mine has mirror heat, but I’ve only ever left it on a couple minutes until the glass was clear. I didn’t even know this was an option on a Tundra. Seeing as my truck was originally sold in northern BC, it’s very possible. I’m gonna have to turn it on and go stick my um... ...fingers... ...on it.

Well, over two years with this mistress, and I learned something new. She does indeed heat things up where the wipers park. Good to know, will be handy next time I’m driving in a snowstorm.

Mine has the heated windshield under the wipers. Found out when I had my windshield replaced, guy had to get the heated one (didn't have it in stock). Hard to see when installed, but before install he showed me the element in the parked wiper area. Does not do much good though in icy weather. Takes way too long to heat up and ice still builds on the wipers in certain conditions. The cold weather package has a heavier alternator, battery, and the heated windshield.

Odd, I have all the right options (Mirror heat, heavy alt/Battery etc) on my 17, but the windshield doesn't have the element. Compared mine to my wifes Sequoia and I can see the element on hers, nada on mine. I wonder if the Windscreen was replaced by the Dealer at some point before I bought it.

I may "complain" about the lack of heat during my next oil change and see what they say.

Has anyone figured out how to allow the cold weather button to trigger when using the remote starter? Can I somehow remove the 15 minute timer to de-ice my windshield and side mirrors and enable it by the remote start instead of pressing the button inside the truck?
    Does that even make sense?

I don't think I can see it on my '07 but I have seen the wires going to the bottom of the windshield. The windshield washer fluid started pouring out the passenger's side fender near the door when I went to squirt it. Removed the cowl and found the hose was dry rotted and had a hole. However my truck spent it's entire life in South Carolina until this year so if any Tundra didn't get a heated windshield I would expect it would be mine. I just don't know what else the wires would be used for unless an antenna.

No mention of there being a heated windshield on my '07 with Cold Kit.
