For my truck I bought these for the PRNDL lights.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FS6R30A/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You keep the holder and straighten the wires and pull the old bulbs and then place the new bulbs in that same holder and just bend the wires into the right shape and cut to length. Works very well and is much cheaper than the OEM replacement lights that coset $12 each!

I wish I had taken some pictures showing exactly how you do it, but once you look at the OEM holder and bulb you will see how its just the bends in the wires that hold the bulb in the holder in the first place so you just make the wires on your LEDs match that.

You may have to break the original bulb to get it out of the holder as some of mine seemed stuck but that is no big deal.

And remember, if it doesn't light, turn the holder 180 degrees and try again.

For the other lights I used these, they where direct plug in replacements.

NEO-4 is what you're looking for.

I could be wrong here, but not so sure the LED bulbs will fit the P and D. The OEM bulb is shaped to fit in the cluster assy.

In other words both bases (LED and/or Halogen) fit, but the ‘bulb’ portion of the LED is too big and the OEM halogen fits perfectly. Revisit post #6 of this thread to see the proper bulb. That is what I used for the P and D.

The Neo4 LEDs will work because they're the whole assembly, I'm sure a single chip would work but you'd have to find one with the wires attached.

@Somemedic did you have any issues when replacing the brake light and the gas indicator one with led? I did mine and not sure if it's cheap bulbs or why they stay illuminated. All others seem to work fine.

I would love to do the blue conversion but my Tundra is a 2000 has a green lit radio unit. Can the radio head unit backlight be changed? Also, for the indicator lights like park, drive, airbag, seatbelt, etc, as well as the Climate Control, are these to be ordered in white? I guess I'm confused as to what lights need to be which color.

The light on the OEM radio cannot be changed to my knowledge. You're better off putting a new stereo in. It's extremely easy and inexpensive.

No. The lights in there now are white with a green condom over them. You could just remove the condom and improve the color but if you're going to open up the dash you should just go ahead and throw new bulbs in.

The Neo 4's mentioned above are apparently a good replacement for the indicator bulbs. If you look at the first page in this thread you'll have all the info you need to replace the bulbs.

Red/orange would also be a nice look. I'd change the radio out to a a bluetooth touchscreen with navigation. They're just too damn handy not to

Those blues look great. I will definitely be looking into this as my Drive gear indicator light is out too.

Does anybody know if there is a bulb for the mileage area. I have a 2002 SR5. Also I changed the larger bulbs to LED but on the speedometer, it only brightens up to the 60mpg mark..everything else is light instead of blue

No bulb for the odometer. There is, however, a removable green film on the odometer between the light source and the LCD which when removed will make the odometer white. That being said, I wouldn't attempt it unless you're really, really good with electronics. There's a decent chance of really screwing it up just with the static electricity from your fingers if you aren't extremely careful. There's a write up over on Tundrasolutions on how to do it, think it's buried in the old gauges thread.

Don't you guys find the LEDs a bit (okay, a lot) bright as an incan replacement? I used the Neo4 as a Homelink button bulb replacement in our Sienna and you could see it from orbit, it was so bright.

    Yes, but....

I replaced the control panel with new incandescents for your reason above with no rubbers. Cheaper in cost and the white color does well.

I replaced the instrument panel with LED (blue indigo color) as its easy on the eyes for me anyways. Not bright but clear with a color I like. If they were white LED, then yes the orbit would probably light up.

That makes sense. For some reason the blue and amber are wayyy dimmer than the green (and certainly the white) LEDs.

2005 and 2006 aren't user replaceable unfortunately. All you can do is carefully wet sand the green tint off the back of the speedometer face and then replace it with a red tint if you can find one.

Another thing, before swapping in the LEDs, I removed the green rubbers from the OEM incandescent bulbs to see how they’d look and was impressed. The 02’ instrument panel went from a dimly light green to a whiter reddish with orange look (and much brighter due to rubbers off with same exact bulbs). It was a nice look.

In retrospect, I probably would have kept it this way but had already ordered and taken possession of the blue LEDs.

Talk about timing, my "D" went out three days ago and I had come to believe it not worth tackling with the instrument panel and all confronting me. Now, having read your posts, I believe it will be an easy enough project and I will undertake it soon with the help you guys have provided.:hattip:

Yes I am just going to replace all of them. Just not sure what color to go with.

Leaning towards blue just don't want it to look ridiculous.

The color for those are on the cluster so if you use something besides white you'll get a weird visible color.

Wow, that one is less than clear to me, so I must be missing something, besides not knowing who was being addressed. In any case, weird visible color is contrary to MY desire for a harmonious color display of my choosing. And disappointing, as well. Please elaborate, and settle what you mean by weird for this elderly control-freak in me.

Pretty much you'll end up with a muddled most likely brownish color from the colors mixing. That whole mixing non primary colors, blue might be ok since you'd likely end up with different greenish color.
