So.....after my Tunny got repaired, I had the complete rear set of chrome badging which I did not want. I couldn't get black versions. Everything had to be stock. Well today was fairly warm so I decided to utilize my rear tailgate chrome Tundra badge. My grille was lacking something and my build thread from day 1 was always about best bang for the $. I grabbed a can of Rustoleum Blasted Metal "Peel Coat" that I had and went to work. 8 coats in total. Quite frankly I think Rustoleum's product is better than Plasti Dip. Would have been nice to have TOYOTA across it..but me being somewhat thrifty decided to go with my chrome badge............results below. I like it. That's all that counts.........and was basically free.

Well...for years I used pretty much Trico wipers. I really like and used Bosch Icons for awhile then switched to Toyota SightLines which are decent. My last pair of SightLines were due to be replaced now after over 18 months. The passenger side wasn't doing as well so I took advantage of a sale at AdvancedAuto this morning. Went back to Trico after all these years. Trico Onyx Premium's. Retail for $50 a pair. Saved $10 by ordering online. Drove and picked them up went back on the computer and submitted for a $10 rebate gift card for AdvancedAuto. Final cost with tax>>$33.38. Not bad. I like the new Onyx design. Very wind resistant and all season.

Added a new detector to my collection. A BH Discovery 2200. Planning on making several trips to some old mines and defunct mining towns once I can get up to the high country.

I was considering getting some TOYOTA vinyl lettering and go old school on my newly repaired tailgate.....decided to go minimalist...............

The last couple weeks or so have been pretty nasty especially after the bump cyclone polar vortex blizzard caused by too many cow farts and re-fried beans which I am also guilty of eating....so....my OCD finally kicked in and decided to wash my 14,000 ft Rockie Mountain Mall crawler Tunny..............and add the 4X4 badge so not to confuse any of the big 3 fan girls......

Once the weather clears I'm going to replace all four of my old fender well aprons. Got some anti static bench matting from work which will work just fine for this job. Black side out of course. Once I'm done here at work in an hour I'm going to stop by my dealer and get new plastic fasteners. Should come out good.

Nice day to replace rear aprons. Fairly easy. Had to reuse plastic fasteners since dealer not open today. Broke only one.I'll get 10 from the dealer tomorrow after work. Two pics of heat shields. Dry as a bone after almost 12 years. Cam towers dry. The front aprons are surprisingly in good shape. For another day, besides front lower fasteners are covered up by the winch bumper brackets. Figures..... beer time...:p

I thought I had a roll left of the bench matting but was apparently used on two new benches for the lab. I put in an order for another roll. If you want ...once it comes in I can trim enough off for you to use for the 4 aprons.

Thanks Beast. Nothing trips my trigger more than when I see a post that says 1st gen anything is something to avoid. Bull Shit in my book. My first year gen 07 at almost 12 years old, and 96.5K miles is purring like a mountain lion. No cam tower crap like the "newer" Tunnys...no new nanny issues that I have been able to survive without all these years. Outdated??? Yeah right. Meh..heh...heh

Well.... I decided to do the front aprons today. Came out pretty good. Need to drill a couple holes in the frame where the new fasteners will go. One on each side. Easy peasy. Glad I didn't go to dealer and buy new fasteners. Got a bag full in my storage unit. Hopefully it will be easier to find them as it is to find my @RelentlessFabrication chop plates....
