I just recently bought a 2017 Tundra 4.6L It did not come with a tow package and after reading many threads on here I bought a Tekonsha P3. I took of the panel and everything seems to be working fine. I am wondering if where I grounded the wire will work. In the attached photo you can see that I ground the wire to a little stub connected to the gas pedal and circled in yellow. The ground wire did not reach to where I saw others ground it over by the brake circled in red. Is where I grounded it going to cause any kind of problems?

    Thanks for the advice!

It might cause a problem with the drive by wire systems. I grounded mine on the column mount there is a ground stud on the left side of the column.

I grounded mine to the bracket that holds the heat duct right behind the diagnostic plug on the left side of the steering column. The plastic vent is mounted to a steel bracket so I attached the ground wire behind the plastic vent so it is in direct contact with the medal bracket.
