What additional accessory do I need to order with it? Last I heard was the adapter wiring for GPS?

 

You can also opt to skip the brass connector and splice the included android cable’s connector to the Maestro cable which is then connected to the factory GPS.

How long after ordering did it take everyone to receive shipping info? It's only been a few days, but I'm getting impatient!

 

I ordered mine thru Phoenix Automotive on the sixth and still have not received a tracking number...
They are quick to respond to email and very helpful, but slow to hand over a tracking number.

However, I asked them to open the box, hook it up and update the unit in its entirety prior to shipping it. So that might be a factor in my delay.

 

So just to be clear; the unit has front L/R, rear L/R, and subwoofer L/R RCAs?

 

There are no sub RCAs.

 

Meh, no biggie, I'll just run what is there thru my Twk 88 and pull sub off of that.

 

You’ll need a loc or some know how on putting the sub in, I prefer the loc

 

Bought mine thru rhino and they seem clueless, ask basic settings questions and it’s “I’ll speak with the Chinese tonight and get back to u” . I can 2nd the “Here’s ur stereo, figure it out buddy”

Question, are all the CarPlay dongles created equal? My unit sucks with CarPlay and I’m curious if it’s the freebie dongle or just my settings? If I do anything other then Play music the music cuts in out and the effects Waze or whatever I’m usin

 

You have the 2nd gen fast boot with knobs? I was told there was rca amp pre outs

 

I have a single knob for the 2nd gen tundra, it had one sub out black rca, which I guess u can use? But yes they’re were pre sub outputs.

 

Join the facebook group, it's a wealth of tips and tricks, help from hundreds of members. There's a guy, same unit as you in his 2nd gen Tundra that was ready to return. After getting help, he's become a pro and advocate, has even figured out a Netflix apk to download content, what us 3rd gen Tundras wish we could do. Want to maintain privacy? I joined and it’s much more help then anything from the place I purchased from could ever be, name on there is jim freemen just cause I don’t need to be accused of having a secret FB from the wife. Definitely a wealth of knowledge on that page.

I waited from jan 4th till Jan 30th w/o tracking was told if I didn’t get the tracking by the 23rd of jan I wouldn’t receive the unit till late feb early March. So I canceled that and bought a instock refurb and had it the next week (rhino radio)

 

Geez I hope I'm not waiting that long

 

Tracking number received. Now hopefully Ace Ventura doesn't show up with a package for me... those broken units do not inspire confidence.

My HU should be here Friday! Woohoo! Fingers crossed on a semi easy installation. Is it still recommended to notch the top backside of the screen, to keep the screen from separating from the digitizer?

 

Mine had the notch already cut out on the radio...I did trim the piece on the truck at the top in THIS video.
