I bought and installed a new back up camera on my tail gate handle and connected it to the existing harness near the spare tire. Now I need to find the harness in the cab so I can splice my wires to my head unit. I’ve looked on the overhead console and didn’t find a connector there. Any ideas of where to look? I own a 2012 Crew Max.

Is it a aftermarket head unit?

On my 2010 I recall the connector for the mirror LCD was tucked in the headliner forward of the overhead console when I pulled it down. Not sure though where that starts below the dash.

I already pulled down the overhead console and didn’t see an extra connector up there.‍♂️

Mine was tucked up under the headliner and would not have found it had I not been told it was tucked up there.

Thanks for the schematic. So the wiring for the camera is integrated into the rear view mirror harness and not a separate connector? I’ve seen other posts where there is a separate connector up there but I don’t see it.

Some just run the new wire / cable from tailgate to HU. It may save time, to get complete.

Sorry if my info was misleading but yes the rear view mirror connector is where the LCD wires run. I added a rear camera and LCD mirror.
