TRD Air Filters, Front door windows tinted to match the rears. Wheel locks, Talons Garage cat shield, Tyger Automotive soft tonneau cover, WeatherTech floor mats with Tuff Skinz Custom Emblem kit, Toyota OEM Emblem Black Out kit. AVS vent covers on all four doors, Red Tundra letters on front bumper & TRD highlighted in Red on front grille. Tailgate Tundra Letters in Black.
    LKSR5,

I feel your pain, it’s a huge inconvenience . I also live in a cold and snow covered area and I need my headlights to work on demand.

I’m sure if you contact ihacker he can help you out.

As you know his harness’ look like they came from Toyota. High quality connectors.

I do have his harness got it back in March 2018 and no issues until tonight. But he had that time only with motocontrol

Anyone have photos of the light output? Like to see if there flamethrowers.

    LKSR5,

The pic I attached is the new version. The 2 short connectors are for the turn signals. The bundle is the fuse tap. And the 2 longer length ones with white connectors are for the headlights with a 2nd wire and grey connector that connects to the fuse tap for your led drl’s

No moto control required and way better than the first version.

Plus when you turn on your hi beams the low beams stay on.

My old set up with moto control had the low beams that Would turn off.

I’ll try and remember to get some pics tonight or in the morning. I won’t say they are flamethrowers, but definitely better than my stock halogens or Spyders were.

You guys have me worried now. Although mine is working fine, I have never trusted the Motocontrol. I don't trust anything that is related to a HID kit, I had one in the wife's Venza and tons of trouble with it. Luckily that car has projectors so I was able to just swap the HID kit for Vleds Micro LEDs.

So my question is about switching to the new version harness. Specifically the harness that controls the DRL with a relay. Is that harness left in place with the new version headlight harness, because when I installed the dimming harness I had a bitch of a time de-pinning the grey wire in the cab and broke it. I can't put it back to stock in the cab.

Would like to update all that soon as I touched low beam connector light came on. I didn't find any corrosion or moisture in there. Probably it's just bit loose wire or something.
Not sure what to do to prevent it from happening again.

    Anyway was quite quickly fix

I would like to thank iHacker for very quick response and support. Will always refer you iHacker

    Azblue,

When I got the new harness from ihacker that eliminated the moto control all I had to do is restore the turn signal pinning to stock or original and yes the skinny grey wire under the dash can stay cut or de pinned.

The fuse tap that ihacker provided in the kit will become your drl.

Hopefully these will give you an idea. Mine are the 2019 TRD Pro headlights. There’s a bit of a gap on the lower left side you’ll notice. I believe this is because I also installed the TRD Pro fog lights, and they need to be adjusted outward a bit. They are slightly cross eyed at the moment.
This is with the level control adjusted all the way up. I may need to adjust the headlights also

Nice, thanks for the info. I might have to think about upgrading my harness and getting rid of the Motocontrol. One less thing that can go wrong.

Thanks for showing me your light output. I installed LED bulbs from Headlight Revolution and comparing light output. Installed bulbs into 2017 OEM Pro Headlights. Looks like out put is comparable. Thinking of replacing with 19 headlights.

@iHacker just to make sure i read your OP correctly.. if i were to upgrade lights.. for 18 its exact plug and play? no major modifications or a need for a harness? I have a 2018 SR5 TSS Offroad, I first thought about upgrading to LED bulbs, but im thinking i like the idea of swapping out the whole unit.

I’m so lost even after reading through all 18 pages. So many options and I just don’t know what pertains to me. I also don’t get why you have to go through the firewall into the cab? I was watching a Head Light Revolution video about their harness and they don’t mention anything about the firewall.

All I know is I want the 19 TRD Pro lights on my 2015 SR5 CM. What option do I need??B1D1BFD9-BDC1-4BAD-BAF6-547A52401903.jpg

All you need is the main harness and the additional DRL harness. No need to go through firewall unless you want the drl strips to dim when the headlights come on.
