My light comes on at 30 gallons burned, I've gone to 34 burned, but had a 3 gallon gas can on case. As others mentioned, the tank is so long the pump is likely exposed when you get down to less than 7-8 gallons. 30 gallon fillups are fine by me and I like having some extra range. My Jeep has a 20 gallon tank, and light/0 miles comes on with only 2 gallons left. At 14 mpg your s.o.l. after 25 miles. At least I get about 17 on my Tundra and breathing room of 6-7 gallons is a good thing. I average 500 miles +/- for 30 gallons.

Ok. Looks like I carry that gas can and see if I can get more than a 30 gallon fill up. 30 gallons so far.2A9FBB4D-9CE5-48EA-A97C-D03E85D30EC1.jpg

I go below 0 now and then. Usually not a lot. Fill up when I do is 31-32 gallons. Toyota has just built in a huge margin.

    I have a 38 gal - I filled up at 1/4 and it took 24 gal
Never let any tank get under 1/4 full, gives me a buffer... plus the illusion of not buying 38 gals at a time... lol

I have the stock tank and ran it past 0 once and ended up with 354 miles of 1 fillup. It never died on me either and that’s when I finally stopped to get gas.

I have a 5 gallon gas can that holds 6 gallons, so to be safe I always make sure to fill it when it’s down to one gallon.

You're right, they should get rid of the 50 post minimum - that way there's no filter for Scamboy Steve to join and post a sale as his first post.

Just did my first long trip, stock tank, 300 miles after fill up and refilled at 1/4 tank. I'm not one to go below 1/4 tank. Good enough for me. Other than a trip here and there, I don't drive much, and live on an Island. If I had to commute for distances to work everyday, I'd have a small 4cly as a second vehicle.

Just registering was a PITA!! My username is Rngr188 because I have a Ranger 188 bass boat, they wouldn't accept that because H is the 8th letter of the alphabet and they thought the 88 was in reference to Nazi slang.

Yeah, but with the way the AR is demonized, I can understand all the precautions. Political correctness will be the death of freedom.
