all jokes aside, I NEED SERIOUS HELP WITH THIS- 2012 DC
my rear window has never closed since the day i bought it, and at times you can see slack from the cable that pulls the rear window shut popping up. it appears its too loose. anyone know what the deal is? something i can easily do myself? or should i head to my friendly local neighborhood mechanic or a dealership? id prefer to do it myself if possible

Maybe there is just something stuck in the truck causing the window to stop short. Start by taking off the back panel and investigating how everything works.

I've done a similar window regualtor on a Chevy Silverado. If youre not afraid to turn a wrench, there are no special tools or skills needed. It was quite easy actually.

Remove the rear seat, remove plastic panel if there is one on the back of the cab. Take a picture of how everything is before you remove it. Then just unbolt the old one, and reinstall the other one. Needle nose pliers for the cables. They are like brake cables on your bicycle. Little ferrules on the end that pop into place, and the cable rides in a track.

For 40 bucks I'd just order the part so you have it, even if there's a chance it's not broken. Other wise you'll take it apart twice.

if you are looking to diy... buy the part that Roman posted for u. best to have it readily available if it looks like something u can tackle knock it out, if not leave it torn apart drive to dealer and have him install it for you and now you save a little bit on the price of the part and perhaps you can negotiate a bit on labor since it's already accessed.

So it my problem may be related. When my rear window is down on my 2018 tundra I get a rattling. Any ideas? I’m taking it in for it’s 5k servicing Monday.

There’s no plastic panels or anything covering the window regulator once you fold the seat down. It’s all pretty straightforward
