First, my truck is a 2015 TRD Pro, double cab.

    1) The lock and unlock button on the key fob neither blink the lights nor chirp the horn. I cannot find out from the manual if this is normal, permanent or adjustable.

    2) While reading the manual a while back, I came across a feature to "child protect" the back doors: there is a tiny slide switch located on the door edge that when slid makes it so the back door cannot be opened from the inside. I slid it down but cannot get it to slide back up. I may need to ask the dealer at next service.

    Anyone with knowledge or info?

When I hit lock/unlock on my key fob, the parking lights flash (once for lock, twice for unlock) and it chirps (not the horn but something else) the same.

I have no experience with the child safety locks.

    Mdavis, thanks...

I thought it should blink and chirp. Either I inadvertently changed a setting or its failed. It does still lock and unlock. Could not find any settings though, when I went to the manual. Will ask dealer next time in.

Went through these settings front to back and followed every menu option. Do you know of an entune setting for this? Maybe I missed one.

Just checked, Setting for lock/unlock is on. Chirps twice and blinks for unlock, does neither when I press lock.

Thanks for the help, just doesn't seem to be working

Yes, it locks but won't chirp or blink. I would guess everyone knows how aggravated I am since I'm probably not the only one, half way to the store door or looking out the motel window, it's nice to see the blink or hear the chirp to know she's locked tight!

Maybe a problem with the wiring connecting the lights to the locking mechanism? Check the fuse pertaining to that, if no dice, I'd take it to the dealership.
